You think he had the joke before Sept 2013? If he's new, he might actually get material from the internet, comedians and artists are known to borrow.

Same, that set up was far too similar.

Idk man. Mullaney doesnt mention tv wrestling, a deer or people getting injured. And his story is actually slightly believable.

What part of what I just said implies I haven't already heard the bit? I've seen the special at least three times now.

then you know he used the same set up and delivery. he just switched out the ******** on the computer for ******* a sink and breaking the pool table for breaking the tv. the deer **** was thrown in to make it seem wilder. the dude just copied a joke that was televised the year before

Because no one but John Mulaney has ever been to a crazy party before.

he used the same wording and style of metaphor. also same structure of lead and punchlines. watch the joke done by john mulaney, then read this again. the post was also done in 2013 when the stand up special was done the year before

It is true that the comedian's special predates the greentext by at least a year probably couple years. Though, the similarities are limited, imo. Most of the individual elements are not the same, except for the police part roughly and the "white" kids part. Stylistically it is not delivered that similarly given the contemporary dialect of the two stories. 2/10 probably not a story based on that comedian's routine.

as for it actually happening like the op said, I'd say 5/10 not improbable, and certainly the story is good even if it is fake.
