leifbunny ONLINE (12/09/2015) [-] I... can't remember where I read it, but someone reasoned that hell could never be the terrifying place we imagine it because humans grow tolerance by design. That and we fetishize everything, so there will always be at least one guy who finds even hell's most depraved punishments arousing.

Chester (12/09/2015) [-] Except that's not how it works. Hell is to you, not to all. If Lucifer is as bad of a guy as he's pegged to be, he will ensure Hell is personal to all of its inhabitants, and that nobody can fetishize or enjoy anything. Jus someting to tink aboot.

teddybearlove ONLINE (12/09/2015) [-] OOOOOO if you like that you should give the book "For Love of Evil" By Piers Anthony a read or at least check out the sparknotes on it. The book's ******* fantastic. You learn that Lucifer really isn't all that bad of a guy. He's just doing a job that has to be done. The series that it's in (Incarnations of Immortality) has an Over-arching plot that is just wicked once you see it all.

Chester (12/09/2015) [-] There are things that we can tolerate on this Earth that I'm sure we couldn't tolerate elsewhere, especially in higher proportions. We can't tell what's on other planets or other galaxies, and we can't tell what truly goes down in Hell. There's always an air of mystery that prevents us from ever being entirely tolerant or ignorant, and that's where we'll fail. Just my two cents, at least.
