I just regularly save my file and make a copy of all my layers and group them for backup, like in every 10-15 min. After ******* up in critical moments and having no backup, has teached me to take no chances.
>drawing
>something else attracts my attention for 2 seconds
>get back to the drawing
> **** wheres my pen
>have to stand up to find that i was sitting on it
sometimes i really want to draw **** , but after 10 minutes of drawing i remember
everything i draw looks like it belongs in a cringe comp
so i stop and never get better **** me
The only time I ever use layers is to add shading quickly, but I always put it all back into just one.
heres a quick doodle I did a about a month ago. I cropped it because tiddies and yes shameless plugin what're you gonna do about it?
Just concept stuff, one direction I'm taking it is a mental dungeoning rpg with different bosses representing different negative mental states (disgust, fear, anger, depression), if I do that this is probably close to what the MC will look like
DO INTIMIDATE YOU **** BOI? just kidding bby, its all about practice, practice, practice. Keep drawing, and always remember to never put yourself down, dont compare, contrast. Always see what you can do better next time, even if that means writing down. We all in dug struggle
I'm currently in the "I suck at drawing and just want to pay people for commissions" phase. If you know any artists looking for commissions, send them my way. I would prefer if they draw porn.
>200 dollars for one character
>only one slot per month through Patreon
>Already taken
Not that he doesn't deserve that much money, but I could get ten pictures from Cuisine for the same price. But thanks for the suggestion, at least. Patreon is great, but it makes it difficult to get commissions from even remotely popular artists. Even Markydaysaid is all full up.
I'm the artist for Exoitc-Erotics (fantasy dildos) and do porn as a living but sometimes furries creep me out with their wants and I prefer to draw robots and aliens (MCU, Xenos, NGE, MA etc) rather than anthro wolves.
I'm making an H-game, so I need lots of stuff. Some kinky, some less so, but nothing WAY out of left field. It's sci-fi with a planet exploring backdrop, so lots of aliens and monster stuff. Step one is just getting pinups of the characters. And maybe some help with the designs - especially costumes - from a REAL artist.
WRITE DOWN YOUR IDEA.
DRAW IT LATER WHEN YOU ARE READY TO DRAW.
I can not stress enough how important it is to write down ideas.
Ever heard of "Far Side"? Short one to two panel comical pictures.
The author of Far Side said he has lost way too many good ideas because he didn't write them down. Don't trust yourself to remember. You won't until it's too late.
I hate those times in which youre motivated as **** and everything seems like its going to be amazing as **** , then you take a step back and you find out its **** , so you just want to build a cocoon and lay inside of it whilst eating your sorrows away until you have to come out and hopefully not see your shadow hence making the winter last longer.
i work in vector based programs mostly, so i dont run into the layering problem much thankfully (i can just cut and paste the shapes in the correct layer without whatever is supposed to be underneath being lost)
i never really noticed how much of a real problem it was till i started using photoshop as a temporary drawing program
currently in the motivated but uninspired phase.
normally,I'd just go into mindless grinding when this happens, but I'm outta' practice stuff as well.
My little idea notebook is stumped as well...
...maybe I should do another request night or something to get back on track:drawing for others generally satisfies me more than working for myself
Seeing other artists do better actually motivates me.I wanna' get there after all,and often, you'll find some neat tricks hidden in other peoples artwork that are worth givin' a try.
