Blackrock is a 1997 Australian drama film directed by Steven Vidler and written by Nick Enright. In Blackrock, a fictional beachside working-class suburb, a young surfer witnesses his friends raping a girl. When she is found murdered the next day, he is torn between revealing what he saw and protecting his friends. Filming locations included Stockton, New South Wales, where a girl named Leigh Leigh was murdered in 1989. While the film was never marketed as the story of her death, many viewers incorrectly believed it to be a factual account of the crime. Her family objected to what they saw as a fictionalisation of her murder, and residents of Stockton opposed the decision to shoot scenes there. The film received generally positive critical reviews in Australia, where it was nominated for five AACTA Awards and won two AWGIE Awards, though it received mixed reviews elsewhere. Adapted from Enright's play of the same name, the film stars Laurence Breuls, Simon Lyndon and Linda Cropper, and features the first credited film performance of Heath Ledger. The **** were you expecting

Ya know. Take out the awkward spaces that are used for the laugh track and crunch it down so that the dialogue doesn't sound fake as hell without it and you actually have a semi-amusing script. Not great by any means, but a lot better than the overblown autism that it watches like without it.

I seriously think people only laugh because there are laugh tracks.

I don't even hear laugh tracks anymore, my mind has blocked them out, i only hear then when people whine about laugh tracks

i know thats why they put laugh tracks in there. but i have developed thinking laugh tracks and just normal (early Disney Channel) so it's almost telling me this isnt actually funny, even when something might be funny
User avatar #23 to #14 - Ulmer (05/13/2015) [-]
Actually, that is entirely why laugh tracks are in sitcom. It's basic psychology, the mob mentality.

That's ******** .
I am exactly the person show makes fun of. A software engineer who dresses as a knight in his free time and fights other people dressed as knights. I also collect comics and read and watch sci fi and fantasy, and I met my wife on a convention.
And I still laugh and enjoy big bang theory.
Why wouldn't I?

Let me explain something to those who go "uhh but its not funny", that's fine that you don't like it.
The point in the OPs post isn't if BBT is a bad show.
The point of the OPs post is that its horrible show because it makes fun of the geeks.
So ******* what?
Are we ******* Tumblerinas now that can't take a joke at our expense? Does it "offend us" to have some of common faults of geeks made fun of?
******* grow up, log off the tumbler and stop being so ******* sensitive.
User avatar #91 to #88 - Lainge (05/13/2015) [-]
Because it's just... terrible.

About that lowest post: Way to hyperbolize everything. The only thing that happens when I watch TBBT is that I get lightly amused while passing some ******* time. The world isn't ******* ending.

If an intelligent person watches TBBT, he is perfectly capable of seeing the flaws of the show. That doesn't mean he can't enjoy the humor, because he's probably not a pretentious douche.
#131 to #36 - shadowbringerx (05/14/2015) [-]
>TBBT

Riiiiiiiight

But seriously, I tried to give that show a chance several times and found zero humor in it at all. It all seemed really blah in that department, tbh.

My father watches this show, his reasoning. "It lets me understand you better"

Father, to understand me better, we spend time with one another. HEY FATHER, IT'S YOUR SON, LET'S GO BOWLING! It's not like I act differently in public than any other person. I don't ******* shout memes outside of the internet like some cringey **** .

I guess losing another parent is something I'm afraid of, maybe I over-analyze this **** and he gets a genuine laugh at it or something. But sweet merciful **** I can't stand that show.

"If you like this TV show, you're openly admitting to advocating ignorance and setting it as a social standard to live up to!"

If my choices is between that and 'be a pretentious douchebag on the internet who only spends so much time writing comments because nobody in the real world can bear remaining in their presence for more than seven seconds', then I'll be over here watching The Big Bang Theory and (very occasionally) chuckling.
#22 - anon (05/13/2015) [-]
I like how this was posted back in 2012 when Anita Sarkeesian had barely even started her videos. And she was literally the only notable and I'm stretching the definition of that word a lot woman criticizing games for perceived sexism. Which was enough for all those channers to declare 'FEMINISTS DECLARING WAR ON GAMES.'

If internet tards stopped elevating people they despised to positions of importance by constantly talking about them, then maybe they'd have less reason to complain about those people in the first place. Idiots on the internet seem to love nothing more than creating their own anger.
#102 to #22 - hillbillypowpow (05/14/2015) [-]
But they were right
#162 to #102 - Keavy (05/14/2015) [-]
They were right because they MADE THEMSELVES right. It was a self-fulfilling prophecy - by constantly complaining about the attention she got, they only served to make her get more and more attention until eventually she was full-on 'actually famous'. She's now been named one of Time Magazines 100 Most Influential People in the World. All because people who hated her just wouldn't shut up.
User avatar #60 to #22 - nakedandsexy (05/13/2015) [-]
she wasn't the first to say it, she was just the first to make those retarded "educational" videos and rally up SJWs
#71 to #60 - Keavy (05/13/2015) [-]
And who gave her the most attention, SJWs or websites like FJ and 4chan that never shut up about her?

...

Probably the SJWs but still it's like you can't swing a cat on this website without seventeen 'oh no feminists are ruining video games and the world' posts. Per day.
User avatar #159 to #71 - nakedandsexy (05/14/2015) [-]
that's actually true...
