Pokeman: same game, different textures/graphics

Allow me to be devils advocate.

There is an EXTREME difference between each generation of pokemon game.
The story might be linear and lame most of the time, but nobody plays it for the story.

Each gen there is often an assload of new pokemon, with new moves, and new statistics, and often new mechanics.

The difference between pokemon black and pokemon Y is vastly different.
Pokemon Y focuses much more on PVP than black does, giving you endless options for matchmaking, and trading alike, a whole new movement system and as you said graphics, but the change is so extreme that it feels like a completely new game.
Pokemon Y has implemented many minigames such as super training and Amie which has never been seen in another pokemon game.

Allow me to regurgitate what you just wrote and show you why it doesn't matter.

You can make the same argument for CoD that you do for Pokemon. It's the same concept.

My argument was completely irrelevant to call of duty though.
You can use that same logic for anything. Its like reductio ad hitlerum but with call of duty.
Its not logical to make a counter argument like that.

Your argument is that pokemon's evolution and release cycle differs from CoD's because of the things you mentioned? Am I right?

Clearly they are two completely different series that cannot be accurately compared. My point was to be making a joke while pointing out the parallels in your argument.

Yes but the parallels are irrelevant. I don't know if what you said about Call of Duty is true because I've only played Black Ops 2.

I chose to defend Pokemon because it's a game I've actually played avidly and know enough about to defend it accurately.

If I enjoyed call of duty and played it avidly I would defend it as well, but I don't so I didn't.

Not irrelevant from the content in which we are commenting. Which, unless I'm mistaken, is about call of duty. Which was what #4 was talking about as well.

I get that. Honestly, I love both series, and have been playing both since their respective inceptions. #4's not attacking Pokemon(even if he's being a smartass about it); if people want it, they will buy it. Simple supply and demand disproves any negative arguments towards CoD or Pokemon.

Except #4 is attacking pokemon...
He's not making some counterexample, he is literally just saying the same thing about pokemon.

to be fair, the last one did change the entire format of the game from 2d to 3d and allowed a lot more customization.

To those saying the trailer looks interesting and all dramatic, I'd reason that it is still going to be the same CoD crap, just new weapons and levels.

Sure the trailer highlights all those cool gadgets, but I am going to bet they're all scripted into the story and you can't just use them whenever you want, especially since that's been a growing trend with the CoD games over the years.

Second, and this kind of goes hand in hand with the first point, but it looks TOO movie like. I feel like half of it is going to be cutscenes with quicktime events. Those are fun, right?

Lastly, every time a new CoD is coming out, everyone says the same thing you guys are saying. "Oh look this one is going to be different!" We said it about every CoD since Black Ops, basically, and they all end up going back to the same **** in the end. Why is this one going to be different?

I'm aware this is all my opinion but I just have no faith left in this franchise since MW2.

MW3 is just about the worst entry in the series ever.

alot of game trailers are getting interesting now but sometimes they end up giving away everything like the black ops 2 trailer gave away the main story "usa builds robotic army some evil dude hijacks it all" though this one was interesting it left me wondering who exactly was who what this and that was and what was going on

I hated all of the call of duties, i've played them all and extensively as they were the only games i could play with friends at the time, and i barely enjoyed any of them
BUT i have to admit this new one if the first one that actually has my attention and actually looks pretty awesome, for the single player at least.
But then again mechs and exo suits make everything awesome.

Yeah i know its not related to the games but i ******* love it. Its the most fun i've had in a multiplayer shooter in a long time, as you can see from that gif every day goings on in each game seem almost scripted the games so damn cinematic.

Alas i am a console fag, but yeah its real nice to see the developers supporting it with fixes. They actually listened to the community and dropped down impossible challenges to reasonable levels for example. Recorded this the other week, the game is too fun, its like pacific rim and district had a baby.
