To be fair...
SWS as well as Black veil Brides and Pierce the veil just to mention a few,
is still considered Metal. Emo-Metal or Scene-Metal is still considered metal, even though most of it sounds awful.

I only like 1 song by them, and that's "If I'm James Dean, You're Audrey Hepburn".

But as for bands I do like...

Iron Maiden, The Fall of Troy (yup), In Flames, Dream Theater, KoRn.

I once meet a girl who said she really liked metal. Intrigued, I asked what were some of her favourite bands. The moment she said Black Veil Brides is when i walked away in utter disappointment.

I find metal to be one of the most vast genres out there, but also the most immediately defined one. **** bands like Sleeping with Sirens, and Black Veil Brides give a bad name to the genre. Here's a band I've been listening to for awhile, i highly recommend.

Black veil brides is a bunch of try hard faggots who send a really pathetic and ****** message but I'll be damned if the song "In the end" isn't catchy as ****.

Strictly speaking...
The HAARP Machine is Progressive metal or Meltalicore. not Pure metal, too fast tempo and too much growling. there is a fine line based on the amount of growling and tempo-changes that splits meltal, metalcore, black metal and death metal.

But if this is the genre you're into, i recommend Blinded Colony, and Devil Driver!

(And Soil, which is a fair bit softer, but lovely nevertheless )

Hahaha! That does sound like something Vreth would have done.

I was in the Haugesund show. Vreth (the vocalist) asked if it was okay if he spoke Swedish to the crowd, and everyone "WOO"d, and we did that after every single question he asked and he just said "Man, you can't even understand a word I'm saying". You just had to be there to understand why it was so funny.

People say they like classical but most of what they listen to is romantic. As far as i'm concerned music only sounded good before all these faggots started using valves in brass instruments. The only real music is baroque.
I have to deal with this **** everyday and it cripples my brain so intensely that they don't appreciate the same things as I do to the same extent as me. My life is consumed by anger when I hear people say "Are you listening to classical music? OMG I love Berlioz, his ****** so DEEP."

"Pay them money."

But I agree with you, than cant go to all of them. Though if the payment part is true then they are mega douches.

It's actually pretty unlikely they ever did that. The only indication that it ever happened was a comment on their facebook page by an angry mom. It could easily have been a fake account trying to discredit them. 1D has actually performed without pay for terminally ill fans multiple times through the Make a Wish Foundation.

Personally, I think the guys of One Direction are pretty cool fellows. I mean, they seem to be genuinely nice people.

I haven't seen much hate recently on 1D as it sort of faded away. But I guess because a large majority of the fanbase was teen girls that people started hating them.

Yeah, I haven't noticed anything actually bad about them. I've even sung that "that's what makes you beautiful" song when it plays on the radio when I'm driving. Hey, it's kinda catchy... even though the lyrics kinda suggest that low self esteem is sexy.

They are the current boy band. They are mainstream. Girls loves them. Girls compare guys to them. etc. etc. etc.

There are a list of reasons why anyone can hate them ranging from shallow to understandable ones. Me, their music just sucks and no one will remember them in 5 years.

I'm sure that by "punk bands", she doesn't mean actual punk bands like The Clash, The Ramones, Dead Kennedys, Sex Pistols or anything like that. She's probably referring to ****** pop-punk bands like Pierce the Veil, My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday and **** like that.

>Not my taste of music
>******

Do yourself a favour and stop speaking. You're clearly musically challenged if you think any of those bands you listed (in "both" genres you were talking about) are "******" in any way.

It's pretty obvious that you're just a pleb that listens to pop-punk all day. There's nothing wrong with my taste in music.

No, there is nothing wrong with your taste of music. Learn to read, dickwad.
You're the only "pleb" here bashing other people's music just because you don't like it.
Pick up a ******* music theory book, and educate yourself you heifer.

So if I don't like a band, I"m not allowed to criticize it? And the amount of high-school music theory classes you've taken doesn't factor into this conversation.

I'm in my 3rd year of college, you incompetent twat.
That's not the problem, the problem is that you went out of your way to call another band "******" just because you don't like them.
There's a fine line between not liking something and something being bad. Once you get that through your ass-shoved head, you'll probably understand how to start communicating with people you autistic ****.

If I think a band is ****** then that's my opinion. For the most part, there's no objective answer on how good a band is. So when I call a band "******" I'm clearly only speaking for myself.

No, if you don't like them that's your opinion.
If you order a steak, and it's grilled to perfection exactly as planned, and you don't like it, it doesn't mean it's a bad steak. It just means you simply don't like it.

But, to me, it would be a bad steak. And music-taste is mostly subjective. It's not like the bands I called "******" are objectively bad or objectively good. There's no formula for making perfect music. That's why we have so many different genres. Maybe some people like their steak overcooked and others like it raw.

Regardless. It's not a "bad steak". You just don't like it.
If it is done the way it is meant to be, it is not bad. It has fulfilled it's purpose and done a good job of what they were trying to do.

You're obviously too thick-headed to admit when you're wrong, so this conversation is over.

And to respond to your point: Just because "it's done the way it's meant to be" doesn't mean I can't think it's bad. Your problem is that you think all criticism is objective. Who's to say, in the first place, that the steak is perfect? What if two different food critics have different preferences on what they like in steak? Neither are right or wrong.
