The Green Lantern Movie - part 1
So I know it's still a long way off but I started writing a script for what I think the new Green Lantern Movie should be. Get thumbs, I'll do more, I started making one up for BVS a while back, I could write that out too if there's interest.
Oh and btw, not a finished script, just my first attempt at a speculative one.
The Green Lantern
Cold open to an alien world, an unknown Yellow-clad figure standing over an alien Green Lantern who lies beaten and bloody on the floor. Figure raises a glowing yellow sword (or other weapon) in his hand and brings it down to strike the lantern who raises his hand as a weak defense causing a weak looking shield to flicker into existence before being shattered by the sword.
The sword strikes the lantern and he shatters into thousands of glowing green fragments that fade as they explode outwards. All that remains is a ring that floats in the air for a moment before flying off upwards out into space. The figure looks up at the ring in hatred as it flies away.

Our hero, Hal Jordan. Human for now he is a simple car Mechanic, a working man who has a deep voice, dark hair and rugged good looks, average height and build.
He's working on a car talking with a co-worker (owner?) he makes a few (dirty?) jokes but is mostly serious as he works.
Cut to Hal with a customer (middle aged woman) talking about the cost of repairing her car, explains that it might be more expensive to repair than the car is worth (simply says 'might be more than the car's worth ma'm'), he acts very compassionate and sympathetic.
Woman is heart broken (she looks poor, old, ragged clothes, car is old and in disrepair) and clearly distressed at the cost (buries head in hands).
We see a glimpse of the cost written on the receipt he holds before Hal crushes it in his hand and offers to fix it for half if she can wait 'a couple ' weeks'. she grins and grasps both his hands gratefully.
Cut to dusk, Hal finishes up some work and waves over to Co-worker 'Johnny?' tells him he's leaving for the day. Following exchange:
Johnny: Who you seeing tonight? Pam or Sally?
Hal: Marissa
Johnny Laughs and shakes his head as Hal puts his bag over his shoulder and walks out away from the garage.
Hal passes and alley and hears a kid scream, he runs into the alleyway and comes face to face with a mugging, a man is pointing a gun at a kid while they fight over a valuable item (laptop, tablet etc?). Hal shouts and runs straight towards the two as the man lets go of the item and brings his gun round to point at the approaching Hal. The kid falls backwards with the item, landing on his back to protect it.
A gunshot rings through the air, an instance before Hal reaches the man and punches him in the face, the gun flies out his hand and the man sprawls on the ground, dazed. The kid jumps to his feet and runs off with the item clutched to his chest while the criminal lies on the floor moaning weakly and Hal stands over him with his foot on the gun.
Suddenly the alley is filled with an overwhelming green light, making eveyrthing look a uniform shade of green and casting Hal in an impressive silhouette as he steps back and looks upwards at the bright sphere of light that is lowering into the alley.
The Glow fades as the sphere reaches eye level to Hal and the ring is revealed, floating upright in a gentle sphere of light that still lights up everything around them in a green light but now allows for shading.
Hal reaches his hand towards the sphere as it hovers in the unnatural quiet (humming or other noise?). Before his fingers brush the sphere a loud, echoing, alien voice speaks (booming and deep with skittering high pitched twitters overlacing the speech):
Power Ring: Hal Jordan of Earth, you have been chosen as the Green lantern of Sector 2814. To accept this power and become a guardian recite the oath.
The words of the oath appear in the air in front of the ring (line by line) and Hal starts to read, at first automatically, but growing in certainty, gravitas, and volume.
Hal: In brightest day, in blackest night. No evil shall escape my sight. Let those who worship evil's might Beware my power. Green Lantern's light!
