Wouldn't that make it slightly easier to kick though?
User avatar #87 to #81 - ragingbrony (03/16/2014) [-]
How does the presence of a knob effect the difficulty of kicking?

Was gonna say something crappy like "but will it work with these doors" and post up a picture of those new 2 part swinging doors that someone recently came up with, but I didn't have the picture, so put "weird doors" into Google and got this as my second result cdn.ebaumsworld.com/2007/11/door01.jpg ... I no longer felt like finding that picture...

Everyone wants it until the moment that they are being chased by a killer, get to the door and ... " **** where's the doorkno-aaaagh...*gurgle gargle*" dead.
User avatar #88 to #79 - ragingbrony (03/16/2014) [-]
As opposed to...

" **** where's my ke- aaagh... *gurgle gargle*" dead.

That would suck if you accidentally locked yourself out. Regular doors you can still get into if absolutely necessary. That... you'd probably have to completely screw the door.
#9 to #8 - verycoolcat (03/16/2014) [-]
Actually... you can. I've done it numerous times. But for high grade deadbolts that are stainless you need a tungsten drill bit.

However electronic door locks with extra mechanical parts cannot be easily removed as such.

You could just get slide doors with a key code input though, probably for less - Faget.
#3 to #1 - amuzen (03/15/2014) [-]
you have to rebuild the entire wall to fit a sliding door in, how does that + a good electronic lock seem like it would be cheaper than a mechanical lock with a Gimick?

User avatar #62 to #60 - spamalope (03/16/2014) [-]
It could still turn the doorknob, and why would someone leave a baby unattended?
