everyone who adblocks and complains about this message gets a john cena screamer every pageview (i'm kidding)

and no, this site makes no money. my real job is programming all day.

but hosting costs about $1800 for all of these server. the DB for this site alone is 80gb.

It's just two banner ads. Yes they are clean, no they don't play sound, it's from a major clean ad network. And yes if you use AVG, it's spyware and it says every ad is a virus. There's not much else to say. It's a free site, I spend a lot of time and effort on it. All I request if you simply let the two banner ads show.

The biggest problem I have with the ads is that sometimes i have funnyjunk open in the background and I have such a ****** computer that sometimes when I'm playing a game, it lags like hell and I can't really do much till i close the fj tab. adblock is normal in this day and age to use. It typically does not block affiliate ads. So admin, consider looking for affiliate ads, such as advertising the hosting providers you use, it typically is a massive payout, (mainly as only a few signups per year.)
Anyone using adblock can choose "disable for this site only". This way you can browse funnyjunk as much as you like.

admin, people do hate websites (and their owners) if they make money. Even if you are losing money blindly, its still not enough.

Seriously, been there, done that. At one stage, credit card maxed out, couldnt afford servers, sites full of users, but no income, so couldnt sell. Eventually pulled the plug. For me, it was the best thing ever. Suddenly had time to go outside, and once its over, people are like, oh but how could you possibly make a loss? Why not ads? why not paid premium content? Some are like, oh, i would have paid the bill, is it like $5?

Real sites cost a fortune to run. I have never once had a site cover its own costs, let alone make a profit.

But the ads for me are hidden 7/10, play loud noise, slow down my computer to the point of browser crashes, randomly restart after stopping them, and it's kind of ridiculous. Literally the only reason I use adblock on this site is because of annoying ads that auto-play with sound that you can't find or pause. If there weren't any ads like that, I'd be fine. Hell, I'd be okay if they showed up only now and again. But it's like every page I view is a race to read the content before the ad starts playing.
