Sorry to hear. Perhaps it would be wise to start searching for what would make you happy instead of what would make you stable.
User avatar #12 to #10 - instalation (05/14/2015) [-]
I agree but it is hard to be happy when you're not stable.
User avatar #14 to #12 - groulgarigon (05/14/2015) [-]
A lot of people believe that. Maybe it's true in the general case but I've done freelance work for about two years now and doing fine. It's not stable pay but I'm sure he/she could find a way to make something like this work.
User avatar #15 to #14 - instalation (05/14/2015) [-]
Yeah, I was talking about in general. But doing what you like is always great when you can afford it.

I think you draw gay furry porn, so you'd probably know more about the whole being adult thing. I'm.. Kinda figuring it out right now.

Don't stop the gay furry porn pls.
User avatar #16 to #15 - groulgarigon (05/14/2015) [-]
Well in general is a statistic and a statistic shouldn't deter you because statistics mean nothing to the individual.

And yes. I draw gay furry porn and making it by. Imagine what you could do with if you did great work. This person's experienced rock bottom. I think he/she'll have the drive to go beyond where I am.

I'll never stop being furry but eventually I want to move beyond that.
User avatar #18 to #16 - instalation (05/14/2015) [-]
But porn is amazing how could you want to move on from it?
User avatar #22 to #18 - groulgarigon (05/14/2015) [-]
Because I get no satisfaction from it. xD
User avatar #23 to #22 - instalation (05/14/2015) [-]
I can understand that I guess. Do you do non gay porn?
User avatar #24 to #23 - groulgarigon (05/14/2015) [-]
I'm able. I just don't get commissioned for it perhaps we should take this conversation elsewhere I feel like I'm tainting this person'a post. x)

What kind of ******* bills do you have to pay that the military and two other jobs is just barely making ends meet?

Well on the bright side, just know that your FJ family is here to support you with dank maymays.

I assume he means the Army Reserves, as I believe active duty doesn't let you have a side job. The reserves only pays me about 220 a month for 1 weekend of work.

How are you in the military and not able to make ends meet? That makes no sense to me. Are you a reservist or something? I come from a military family, and I am in the military myself. I may not be loaded, but I live more than comfortably. I have savings, no debt and my bills are always paid. What the **** are you people doing with your money?

Do you have a kid and are not married to the mother? Or what? Do you have a crap tonne of student debt or something?

I'm not trying to be a douche, I just want to know.
User avatar #51 to #45 - frenzyhero (05/15/2015) [-]
If he's military, I doubt he'll have student debt. They pay out the ass to school you.
User avatar #52 to #51 - farokhmanesh (05/15/2015) [-]
A lot of people come into the military with student debt. Aaaaand oh boyyyy, here we go. 4.5k a year in Tuition Assistance and 54k in a GI Bill your invest 1.2k dollars into (you have to wait at least 3 years before you can draw that full amount for school, and the school and major have to be approved) is not "out the ass." The government pays a lot more out the ass for retarded Appalachian kids to go to school and drop out than they do the military.
User avatar #53 to #52 - frenzyhero (05/15/2015) [-]
Why would people join the military unless they're 100% ****** or they made that their life plan to begin with?
#54 to #53 - farokhmanesh (05/15/2015) [-]
You're... an idiot.
User avatar #56 to #54 - frenzyhero (05/15/2015) [-]
Well ******* explain then, because all it sounds like to me is you're just repeating **** I already know, and filling it with arbitrary numbers.

If I go straight from HS to military, why won't they pay for college and why would I not be making use of additional student financial aids?

It may not be "out the ass" (oh god forbid I use figure of speech) but it's still assistance.
User avatar #59 to #56 - farokhmanesh (05/15/2015) [-]
You said if he was military he wouldn't have student debt, because you seem to be under the impression the government is just stuffing money up his ass to get him a Bachelors. Which is a pretty common, and completely ******** assumption. They wont repay his debts he had before joining, regardless of enlistment or commission.

If you go in right out of high school they will assist you. But 4,500 with a 250 dollar per credit hour restriction will get you some community college course and that's about ******* it. An like I said, the GI Bill is an investment that you have to wait THREE (3) As in 1095 days in order to draw 100% of it. And it has a million restrictions and time restraints on it. Same with TA, they have to approve your degree plan, and if you fail classes you get a D or below in undergrad, or a C or below in graduate, you pay it back to them.

The military can, and will (if you use it right) help you get an education. But they aren't going to pay you out the ass for anything. .
User avatar #60 to #59 - frenzyhero (05/15/2015) [-]
So you just had a fit over a 'misuse' of a figure of speech, is what you're saying?

4500 is still a lot to go towards a class, esp. when paired with other aids, salary, and a job. The restrictions you stated are completely understandable and should even be expected. They don't want to pay for you to learn some stupid, worthless **** . Moving on, there are also plenty of discounts for military personnel, ret. or serving. For instance, Florida Tech gives 15% off tuition for active service, Brenau (I've heard) will give even up to 50%.

And a degree from a community college is just as valid as one from Harvard or another large (regional) school; big name colleges are a trap. If they don't offer anything wildly specific, then there's always a much cheaper alternate.

Of course I'd be assuming he's going straight from high school to military. That's a safe assumption.
User avatar #64 to #60 - farokhmanesh (05/15/2015) [-]
What I'm mad about is the ******** you are implying. And I'm not going to keep repeating myself. But I will say this. If you honestly think a community college degree will serve in the same capacity of a major state school like Kentucky or UCLA, you are ******* retarded. A discount =/= money for school. And you're assuming you always get the full 4,500 a year. And I agree about the restrictions.

And assuming someone joins right out of high school is not a safe assumption. The average age of a new enlistee for the Air Force is over 20 years old. At least half of junior tier airmen in my squadron have prior college before joining. It's hard to say just what percentage have prior college as the don't track that. But that's not even considering all the people who go to military academies or use ROTC in college (like I did), or just finish school and commission.

Hey bro I might have just the thing, I'm about to try it out myself to combat my horrific chronic health and pain problems.
It's a neat little leaf (usually in powdered form) called Kratom, taken in the right dose it's good for supplying you with energy, stamina, pain relief, and a good mood.
I'm currently waiting on some samples of it myself.
It can be a little pricy but cheaper in bulk, it may help.
Good luck bro. And seriously 3 jobs ain't enough what kinda financial burden are you carrying?

OP I feel ya

Supporting my son alone, I work retail days, food service evenings, 2am shift wiping an old man's ass and tucking him in for the night, freelance as a personal assistant when I have any time to, and run an online jewelry business on the side, meanwhile trying to find time to spend with my kid so I don't miss his entire childhood trying to keep a roof over his head.

Life is rough. Whoever says this generation isn't full of hard workers can get ****** .
