Well, when you spend upwards of a billion dollars engineering an aircraft, $18 million building it, then give it to another country who promptly slap a decal on it and have their citizens say "dutch aircraft is best aircraft" then yeah, we will intrude.

and yet nobody said "dutch aircraft is best aircraft". It's probably the property of the dutch, so the title is accurate.

No logic. Native Americans owned America prior to anyone else, Europeans stole it and called it theirs much like in the content. Stay in school.

If by took you mean through mutual trade agreements then you would be partially right because some Indians did trade their land, but not all of them did. If the land was acquired outside of a mural trade agreement then any word used is synonymous with stole.

Then stole would also be appropriate would it not? Much like it is stealing if I murder a man and take his possessions.

well, maybe it's because of my native language that I view the word differently.

we have two different words for "Stealing without the guy knowing it, silently" and the other for "Stealing/taking the guy's property with him seeing it but you use force and you don't give a ****"

You're right. In fact, we should go a little farther than that. Maybe Germany, Japan, America, and Britain should just keep all of our products to ourselves and let the rest of the world figure out how to build their own.

Don't worry, Russia makes some amazing cars you can buy!

content says "dutch fighter", but that implies dutch made it.

It is still an American Fighter no matter who owns it. Or is a Mercedes a Dutch car because a Dutch guy owns it?

That logic is stupid, but yes, my car is "my car", but my car is a German car, not the nationality of mine. The plane itself is American, like a Mercedes is German. Now i understand Dutch govt owns it. You imply that i say a Mercedes is "My car" and people will call it "foortie's car", which is correct, but then the content should say "Denmark's fighter" and not "Dutch Fighter" because there is a little big difference. One implies it owns the plane, the other implies it is the nation of origin of the said plane.

If I'm American i'm not and own a Mercedes, i can't really say it's a badass American car, now can I?

If I paint my car or put a decal on it I won't say: "Coolest American Sports Car"

And that's how you attribute ownership to something from the Netherlands, because the 's doesn't apply too well. Like

French fighter
Belgian fighter
Portuguese fighter

instead of

France's fighter
Belgium's fighter
Portugal's fighter

which sound like crap.

Ah right, Dutch is Netherlands. Sorry in my language It's actually "Hollands" not Dutch.

But actually no, it is the same as with cars and other objects, you call it French fighter if it's French made.

It may sound like crap, but that's how it goes. Like i said, just because France owns Audis to drive it's prime minister, the car itself will never be French (dunno if the own Audi, just an example)

However, yes you can say "French car" even if it is not French made, but only if you refer to it's driver or owner and not the car itself.
