A lot of cheap school computers I've seen doesn't have a touchpad only
the keyboard nipple, so it's a cheaper solution I guess.
But if the computer had a touchpad I don't see why you would need it
unless if you preferred it over the touchpad.

Seriously thought you were talking about me until you mentioned the gf thing.

It's a ThinkPad feature, the trackpoint has better accuracy than a touchpad, for more precise movements etc.

Most of today's computers have more advanced processors and RAM. I'd say most of the people on this site are running Windows 7, 8, or a later model of XP. Mine is a model from 2002, a year after XP was released, so it takes about 3 minutes to start up, and can't play videos on the internet correctly. It's also a laptop, and these models don't come with wireless capabilities like everything has these days. I'm really hoping a job will pull through soon so I can start saving up for at least a Windows 7 desktop.

It's an IBM (techincally bought out by Lenovo at the time) Thinkpad T60p. Over all the laptops I've ever owned (about 6) It's my favorite. Not the most powerful machine in the world, but it's comfortable, durable, understated, and suits me pretty well.

I've got three Thinkpads. A 600x with a Pentium III and 256mb of ram, a T42 with a Pentium M and 2gb of ram, and the first one I posted is my T60p that I've built up with 3gb of ram (maxed out by the chipset) a core duo (not a core 2 duo) t2600 with a solid state drive. It boots Windows 7 ultimate in about 30 seconds. I've also got a few other laptops. (10 in all) 8 of which work.

Seriously?
like no joke?

okay.

just press the button at the top with the little speaker with the line crossing it out before you turn it off.

this will mute it, and it will stay muted until you press it again the next time you turn it on.

I hope this helps, it took me a good bitch-fit to solve this ******* enigma!

also, have some Issabelle for your troubles.

Guys. It's an option in the BIOS. Just enter BIOS by holding F1 before pressing the power button from a cold boot. You can also disable the low battery alarm there. Save the configuration with F10 and exit. Pic related. Mah Thinkpad.
