Remember when Nintendo games made the screen blink until you blew on the cartridge and reset the console 8 times?

mfw I can't use my atari 2600 because I don't have an old enough TV to plug it in without a modern adapter

I think I had to change mine to AV1.

But I didn't start playing "console games" until the gamecube was released.

Got a gameboy in 96 and stuck with handhelds for the most part.

I was poorfag kid, so it kinda makes my heart sad when I think back to how exciting it was for me to get **** like that.

And now I'm poor -because- of video games. Pic related.

On my TV at home, 3 wasn't a channel, so I got really used to static meaning "ready to play video games!"
Then I hooked my Nintendo up at my grandma's house, and her channel 3 was a local news channel... mfw

Who remembers needing one of these for multiplayer games?

I don't remember, because we were too poor to have any consoles growing up. We also didn't have cable. Just a TV and a VCR.

Man, sometimes I feel like I'm the only one here who didn't have tons of fancy gadgets growing up. Just a yard of dirt, and if we were lucky, mud.

I don't think many people had to switch to channel 3 in 2009.

Be it channel 3, 4, 95, 96, composite video, component video or HDMI, game consoles are one of only two reasons I turn the TV on at all anymore.
