as a french I am quite baffled that an english show made a joke based on the difference between "omelette du fromage" omelette of the cheese and "omelette au fromage" omelette with cheese .
It really is a slight difference, wonderful that it translates well.
also this joke never made sense to me as kid, being french I couldnt see how talking french would get girls to fawn all over you.
I understood later
I walked up to a girl I've never talked to before in a bar, opened a new contact in my phone, typed in "Pretty girl from bar", handed it to her to type her phone number. She laughed, said I knew her, and walked away. I have no clue who this ******* girl is, so I have no idea if she was blowing me off for a ****** pick up attempt or actually thought I knew her.
I'm honestly so bad at breaking the ice with girls I've actually considered just handing them my number and walking off and hoping she doesn't post it on the internet.
I think that depends really if he is funny or not. If he is like:
Him: *walks up to girl* U-uhm...
Girl: Huh?
Him: T-take it...
Girl: What-
Him: *fumbles with paper and drops it on the ground* I uhm... *awkwardly picks it up* H-here...
Girl: I... uhm... no thanks...
Him: Y-you too...
Then yeah he would, but if he does something similar to the guy in the video, she could find it funny or maybe even flattering.
