Nintendo buttons have been in that order since 1990.

this shit is so stupid. huur duuur they copied huuur duuur. whats it fucking matter?
#8 to #5 - darcabyss (02/11/2014) [-]
Look very closely, my misguided little shit. It's not about copying, it's about the awkward transition between systems. Game tells you to press X. Playstation: Press bottom bottom. Xbox: Press left button. Nintendo: Press top button.

Can you see how that might be a little bit off setting?

I've never been an Xbox guy, but the Y on nintendo stuff always gets me. Fuck my life when playing my DS or WiiU if something says Y, because I'm going to hit X indefinitely. I've never even owned an Xbox, but the top position just makes sense for me with Y.

yeah, it makes you wonder Y they did that.

I don't get what the problem ...

Microsoft is an American company. Nintendo is a JAPANESE company.

It makes sens that their products reflect their country... seeing as how JAPANESE people read and write from RIGHT TO LEFT, it makes total sense that their controls would reflect that.

the xbox does it that way because of the X and Y axis on graphs. On the playstation i know there is no playstation in the content in japan the x is cancel cos its an x and o is accept.

playing RE MERCENARIES 3D and RE 5 in the same week

To be honest I don't really find it that confusing. After playing a game so much, I don't even think about what button im pressing, it does the function i know its gonna do regardless of what its labeled.
User avatar #18 - DontDeleteMeAgain (02/11/2014) [-]
after years of xbox 360, i started playing God of war 3. the quick time events are absolute murder

I think maybe it's the fact that the buttons are placed differently, hence making switching from Xbox to DS difficult because when you are told to press A, you press B, vice versa.
