Geralt is one of the most bad ass, yet nice and fair protagonists I have played as in any game, and even though he doesn't show that much emotion , when he does, it hits you really damn hard, and no, I will not spoil any moments here because y'all need to play it for yourselves...

He also feels real. Like he's not just some stoic protector type, he likes to **** and get drunk and likes to play games like cards or poker.

Yeah, and with his Witcher pals, he is just so damn hilarious

I love when they all get drunk, its just so fun to see them have some fun and do silly stuff. For example when Lambert takes on the hat and acts like Vesemir, I just couldn't help myself...

I haven't played that far because I'm busy as hell but my favorite part so far is leading the goat back to the weird old guys house and it runs to a bears cave and Geralt loses his **** and yells at the goat " **** , a bear, run you stupid piece of **** !"

it's a little spoilery

mid-way in, when you finally meet ciri, is one of the, hands down, best if not THE best moment in the witcher series. for a guy that hardly ever shows any emotion, he breaks down.

Yeah, I played through Witcher 2 last year in preparation for Witcher 3 and I played through Witcher 3 about a month after it was released. Geralt is easily one of my favourite protagonists ever because he's just a nice guy. He does good to those that does good and bad to those who are bad.
Actual spoiler Remember when he actually thinks Ciri is dead in that little house? How he cradled her body and just rocked back and forth? Geralt supposedly having no feelings is ******** , that hit me like a train.

Yeah same here, you could just see in his eyes that he was devastated, easily one of the best portrayal of sadness in any game I have ever played, it was slow, and he hadn't really realized of what had happened, that is very common when such things happen for people, but I was very glad that Ciri was alive, and the snowball fight got me laughing for a bit

I'm glad of the portrayal of his motions overall. Remember the fury against Imlerith? Gotta love how Imlerith also fought honorably. Few games in Witcher's genre portray villains as humane.

geralt is ciri's father... adoptive father, yes, but far more of a father than the emperor ever thought about being.... there is no mutation strong enough to rid anyone of primal emotions... just facial...
