I see people talking **** about Joe Biden without even the slightest knowledge about what this great man has gone through to get where he is today. Let me tell you some **** about Joe Biden:

When he was first elected to the Senate, he did so with virtually no support from his party against a long time incumbent who had the full force of Richard M. Nixon at his back. Purely through his charismatic personality and his passion and energy for his causes, he became the 6th youngest Senator in U.S. history. Before he was even sworn in, though, his wife and infant daughter were killed in a car accident. He considered resigning to take care of his injured and now motherless sons, but was convinced by the Senate Majority Leader to stay. Nonetheless, no one was getting in between Joe Biden and his family, so he began taking the Amtrak train from D.C. to Wilmington 1.5 hours each way, every single damn day of his entire Senate career.

When he was in the Senate, he gained a reputation as an excellent off the cuff speaker, and used his abilities to face off against both the Reagan administration and adversaries within his own party. When the Salt II arms control treaty with the USSR failed to pass, he personally went to speak with the Soviet Foreign Minister and banged out an amended treaty which was subsequently passed. He also went head to head with Secretary of State George Shultz over Reagan's support of South Africa in spite of their dedication to apartheid.

I could go on for ten more paragraphs, but I know Funnyjunk has a short attention span and I'm running out of characters. Let me just say, though, that if the unthinkable happened and Barack Obama died, that I would be proud to have as god a man as Joe Biden as my President.

Yeah? He's also the ******* retard who said "If you think your home is being invaded just shoot through the door (don't see who's on the other side, that'd be silly right?), or go outside and fire two blasts in the air, that'll scare 'em off."
#47 to #46 - mayoroftownsville (02/11/2014) [-]
Sorry, but you made up that first part. He only said to fire the shotgun outside, and only after specifically mentioning that he lives in a secluded area. Don't take my word for it, though: Biden: "Buy A Shotgun, Buy A Shotgun"

"[if] you want to keep someone away from your house, just fire the shotgun through the door."

You sure? He's still ******* retarded.

He never said that, that news station just misinterpreted or said that to draw attention.

Fair enough, but nonetheless, not enough to call him " ******* retarded." Clearly it's not his area of expertise, as opposed to something like foreign relations, a topic in which he'd school you so hard they'd name a proctology clinic after you.
User avatar #50 to #49 - roliga (02/11/2014) [-]
"Clearly it's not his area of expertise" yet he still acts as if he is an expert and wants to pass legislation on something he has no idea about... Souds like a fool to me.

In that interview, he is defending the position of the administration by which he is employed, a position which was come to not by him, but by the President and countless advisers who are versed in the topic. If that's not a good way to handle an issue you aren't familiar with, I don't know what is.
User avatar #52 to #51 - roliga (02/11/2014) [-]
"President and countless advisers who are versed in the topic" except none of them are well versed in it at all. Obongo is the idiot who said and I quote "High capacity assault ammunition clips"

Someone tell me what the **** exactly is assault ammunition and why it goes in a clip and not a magazine?
#54 to #52 - mayoroftownsville (02/11/2014) [-]
The advisers are versed, not necessarily the President himself. That's why he has the advisers.
User avatar #55 to #54 - roliga (02/11/2014) [-]
Must be terrible advisers then if they can't even give their president correct information.
#56 to #55 - mayoroftownsville (02/11/2014) [-]
Or perhaps- just perhaps- Obama isn't talking about gun parts with them, but asking their opinions on what should be done about the highly controversial AR-15 rifles based on their expertise.
User avatar #57 to #56 - roliga (02/11/2014) [-]
No.. he specifically said "High capacity assault ammunition clips", aka, something that isn't even a real thing...
#58 to #57 - mayoroftownsville (02/11/2014) [-]
He said that to the media, but please tell me, how exactly is that relevant to his position on gun control? Him not being an expert, he is clearly going to be taking advice from people who are. Now tell me, do you think he is going to be drilling them about every detail about how these guns work or gun terminology, or is he going to be asking them things like "Are these safe for public ownership" or "Is it politically prudent to push for the ban" and trusting that they know how the guns work? Presidents misspeak, especially on issues which they have primarily entrusted to others. For instance, Ronald Reagan on foreign affairs: ''Well, I learned a lot....I went down to (Latin America) to find out from them and (learn) their views. You'd be surprised. They're all individual countries.''
