With graphics from 10 years ago.

A year? I thought i heard that they were averaging around 200 days between release dates.... kind of a large overexaggeration...
User avatar #281 to #52 - machinimax (10/14/2013) [-]
It releases on September 17 2014

It is EXPECTED to come out then.

Everything Im seeing, is saying "first quarter of 2013". Ive never seen anything say as late as september
User avatar #272 to #52 - onceuponagary (10/14/2013) [-]
Read somewhere they are estimating it will come in April 2014
User avatar #53 to #52 - yentabear (10/13/2013) [-]
I have no idea about specifically when the release dates are for PC, I've heard from 2014 to 2016 so I'm going on average here. I apologise for the exaggeration.
User avatar #110 to #53 - captinchikin (10/13/2013) [-]
To second oowanrikoo, most sources say Q1 2014.
User avatar #86 to #53 - oowanrikoo (10/13/2013) [-]
First quarter of 2014 apparently, so around 150 days max
User avatar #91 to #86 - yentabear (10/13/2013) [-]
Ah, in that case it won't be as exaggerated as so I said if what you say is true. Still, I'm glad I got to play it initially as there were a lot of bugs which we exploited, leading to us being able to have cool ass **** in a matter of weeks. Still, on the other hand that may not be as fun, but still. We can otherwise skip right ahead to doing whatever we please in that case.
User avatar #96 to #91 - oowanrikoo (10/13/2013) [-]
I hope what I say is true and not just stupid rumors :/ I started my game, played up to 10% then stopped. I just can't do it without a mouse and keyboard :p
User avatar #97 to #96 - yentabear (10/13/2013) [-]
Yeah, for PC gamers it can be hard using analog. Amen for auto-aim, right?
User avatar #104 to #97 - oowanrikoo (10/13/2013) [-]
Hell. Yes. Otherwise console gamers wouldn't be console gamers.
The only game I managed to play with a controller was Kingdoms of Amalur. Playing on normal mode was like playing on a Ninth circle of hell mode(if it existed),at least for me haha
I do think it's a shame that console games don't have mouse+keyboard support though.
User avatar #106 to #104 - yentabear (10/13/2013) [-]
Indeed, I find that I've played with analog for so long that, along with my naturally shaky hands, I am off with my clicking on a mouse and I bought a gaming mouse which is a definite shame. I recently started playing Darksiders and I would imagine it's quite difficult to control the game more with analog than with keyboard/mouse. I admire the fact you can use controller support on a PC, I definitely am for PCs but I enjoy the practicality of having gaming separate and being able to browse FJ and YouTube.
User avatar #108 to #106 - oowanrikoo (10/13/2013) [-]
Yeah, I know what you mean :p I've just gotten so used to the mouse that I can hardly use anything else, though there are some games that are 100x better with a controller.
I really envy you guys getting all the good games months earlier than we do though :p In my opinion mods don't make up for getting games half a year later :/

I would be happy to buy GTA V granted I had a good enough computer to play it, and maybe not as expensive as I originally bought it, not to be a cheap bastard but times can be rough. If I were to buy it I'd buy it for the mods, really. I would have already experienced the game on console, but mods are very fun as well. They're certainly not a good enough argument to wait for the game. I don't often get games early, but because my friends were getting it, it's such a good feeling being able to go on missions with your friends shooting people's dicks off on the back of your buddy's motorcycle and being able to take a hit from a bong, honestly the game has a lot of fun in vanilla.
User avatar #118 to #114 - oowanrikoo (10/13/2013) [-]
If you're ever planning on building a pc, just wait for different parts to be like 30% off. That's the only way I have mine today.
I never really got to play games with my friends like that except for minecraft. I can kind of relate to the dick shooting in that haha. Also, that's the only game that I tend to mod a bit.
User avatar #119 to #118 - yentabear (10/13/2013) [-]
I can understand if people mod Minecraft, it seems as if it's a game to be modded. In this case I think PC versions of Minecraft win, since they have an updated version of it, they have mods and ultimately a lot more advantages in games. I think I will plan on building my own soon, no idea how to however. Just for games that you can mod and are worth modding, like Minecraft and The Elder Scrolls.

The only mod I put on Skyrim was a "better faces" mod. Gotta say, I wasn't too impressed with some of the original male faces in the game. Some of them looked deformed as hell haha
I'd strongly recomend the super mario, pokemon and minecraft mods for skyrim. They are hilarious
Best website ever if you're planning on building: tomshardware.com
You make a post telling them your budget and they come up with the best parts for the money. The guys there are extremely helpful.

Thank you very much! That will be an extremely helpful site for when I do build my computer eventually. I don't think I'd go overboard with Skyrim mods, but I'd definitely try out much more intimate ones for science. Of course, improved graphics mods as well and maybe a Moonpath to Elswyr mod for more adventure. The aiming in Skyrim must be so much easier too.. It's horrific with controllers.

It has been lovely talking to you, I definitely agree that the male's faces do look deformed. I have to settle unfortunately ^^ Still, thank you for the site and I hope you have a good night.

You too man, good night and have fun with your skyrim science haha :p

But didnt it come out last month or so?
User avatar #47 to #45 - yentabear (10/13/2013) [-]
What I meant to put across is that it will be a year or more before GTA comes out for PC, and so we would have had at least a year's worth of fun before them.

A friend gave me his PS3, I played GTA5 on it, finished the game within a few days and now the game is pretty boring, because of the lack of graphics and mods. It just sucks on console.

But if R* can please you with a vanilla GTA, then I wish you as much fun as possible.
User avatar #39 to #36 - yentabear (10/13/2013) [-]
I thank you immensely. What a lot of people who don't have access to mods are available to is to be able to actually appreciate the game without mods themselves that I do admit spruce up a game a helluva lot. But the fun thing about GTA V is, is that with friends it is quite endless about what you can do and can provide you endless hours of fun.

Just the other day I took up nights collecting as many dollars as I could before the patch for the missions that stopped letting you replay the 9,000 dollar missions. That was immensely fun with my friends, to be perfectly honest. I don't think I'll be able to experience mods for quite a while on any game like Skyrim or GTA V because I simply do not have a good enough computer for it, but that's besides the point. GTA V lets you, in certain people's perspectives, have fun with friends for quite a while. That is my opinion, anyway.
User avatar #68 to #39 - Greevon (10/13/2013) [-]
Yeah, mods are great, but I've had hours of fun just watching other people play GTA V on consoles while I wait for it's PC release. Not having mods is in no way a deal breaker. I just want it on PC because it'll look a bit nicer and I won't have to pay for a subscription for online play. Although I'm already getting really tired of waiting...
User avatar #69 to #68 - yentabear (10/13/2013) [-]
I can understand that. I do enjoy the freedom to change the graphics and to be able to improve them on a PC, as well as mods which I admit can be fun, not that I find them the most important part of the game though. I only like the consoles because primarily it's used for gaming. A computer can be used for literally everything, and I use mine for a lot of things, in which this one won't be able to handle playing games as well. I wish it could, though.
