I actually had to manually enter this text color because I couldn't access the slider for some reason, so I needed to type in a number that I couldn't see. It came out way darker than I wanted it to.
Razer is extremely ****** though, especially for headphones. What I don't understand is how he is such a tech enthusiast and has so much money, but doesn't have a nice headphone setup. Really baffles me why he wouldn't have a pair of flagship headphones on that desk because let me tell you something, once you hear a decent audiophile setup you will focus your money on that before even your GPU.
These are headphones that are essentially the cans that are pushing the limits of what these companies can do. Keep in mind this is what separates a company like Sennheiser from Razer. Razer just mass produces a bunch of cheap ass drivers in China and has them imported and slaps their brand name on it, they don't personally make their drivers for their headphones. These companies literally have labs devoted to creating new drivers. Like, legit scientific audio labs. Nearly all of their drivers are made by the company itself. For all you know you are probably getting the same ****** driver in a turtle beach set as you are in your Razer product. Don't enjoy hating on brands so much, but I've just had a terrible time with Razer. I've had two Naga Epics break within six months of buying them.
Ive only had a bad time with the razer headsets, so far ive had the deathstalker, lasted 4 years, still works but i sold it to a friend, have the BlackWidow Chroma, been wonderful.
So, he literally can't have anything other than what is sponsoring him on the desk? I would think these companies would be logical enough to know that him having something like an Hifiman HE-6 on his desk 1200+ dollar headphones is not going to take any customers away from them.
Depends on his sponsor deal and what he does around his sponsors. Streamers are the ones who usually are sponsored like that, and if you make a company enough money off of said sponsor ships they tend to give you a metric **** ton of their stuff for free, and its usually their higher quality stuff.
I mean **** , if I was him I would just use the stuff. No reason to really fight it. Why spend $1200 on headphones when I can just spend it on more important stuff since I would already have a solid one here. In reality though I think razor and alienware share the same effects, extreme overpriced and prone to break gear. I myself would never buy a razer headset, but at the same time, I cant afford to spend $300+ on the really good headsets.
"Yo, I know you'll never get these days back in your life and you can afford your dream car that you always wanted, but **** that bro. You will only be allowed to drive our Ford Fiesta, so **** that Bugatti you drooled over as a child and can finally afford."
-Alienware
-Razer
-Keep calm poster
-TV in an awkward position (I imagine he's either straining is neck looking up at it from close, or has to sit really far away and all the PC equipment becomes an eyesore)
-No big mousemat
-Excessive lighting and bling, but probably didn't build any of those towers himself
- *********** of objects restricting freedom (though it's probably just for the sake of showing it off in the picture)
Upper class have that problem more
You have no idea how many people making ********* of money are still broke at the end of the month because they spend like idiots
What exactly does he do, though? I mean... 5960k, and 3-way titan x SLI? Unless he needs the 3-way sli for the extra cuda cores, then I really don't see how it can be comfortable playing like that, considering the crazy amount of screen tearing, ghosting and micro stuttering he must be getting. .-.
You don't get ghosting from SLI. Unless you're thinking of that issue in Far Cry 4 when you use SMAA and you see a ghosted image that's stuck
Those monitors he has are ROG Swifts, which have G-Sync (got one myself) so no screen tearing.
And although this one I haven't been able to test or see for myself, apparently 3 GPUs gives you less microstutter than 2. Obviously 4 cards is ridiculously overkill and would almost never scale well, so 3 seems like the "sweet spot" (I know it sounds stupid) if you can afford it.
But yeah, Titan X'es are just for bragging rights when you can save tons of money and get the same (if not better) performance out of 980 Ti's. I've seen a few rich streamers who have this combo aswell (5960X + 3x Titan X) and all they play is CS GO or League, it's bloody idiotic.
Oh, okay! Makes sence. Though the 3-way sli being a sweetspot is a bit strange, but alright!
I just kinda found it really weird how he had a 5960k and 3 titan x's if he were just playing games on 3 monitors, unless the were all 8k and all he did was play modded skyrim
Considering only a small portion of people have multiple cards, yeah. Though it does make sense considering how SLI and CF works a bit differently with 2 cards compared to 3 or 4.
And again, triple Titan X is mostly just for bragging rights. I've got two 980's and can easily run any game at 4K high / near max settings and stay well above 60 FPS. Though in the end I prefer 1440p with 144hz any day.
Ah, I guess you're right o: And I know. After the 980 TI came out, buying a titan is kinda pointless! And that's quite nice though, i'm getting a 980 soon and I might upgrade to a 1440 144hz monitor, but not sure. Kinda expencive those things o:
Though I wouldn't reccomend a 980 at this point. If your'e going for 1440p get a single 980 Ti, or if it's too expensive get a 970 and a 1080p 144hz monitor like the AOC G2460PG, it's much cheaper.
I know a 980 wouldn't be the best option, but the thing is that I dont have a job atm! I just save up every penny I get from either my mom and dad and spend that, so saving up for a 980 ti would take so long! Plus a 970 i'm not quite sure would meet my requirements, kind of. Considering I wanna play modded skyrim, mainly, with enb's and crazy lush forest mods and such, and stay at around 60fps o: though I know i'd need more power to do that at a 1440 monitor, but I currently only have 1080p, so
Been thinking about the 970 amp extreme from zotac though, which is supposedly equally good as a base clocked reference 980, and a fair bit cheaper too, but not sure tbh :s
There's not really any reason to buy a 980 over a 970 now though. Even with that whole 3.5GB issue, it hardly impacts performance at all. A decent overclocking 970 can easily get on par with a stock 980.
If you can get the Gigabyte G1 Gaming version of the 970 for a decent price, go for that. It overclocks like a boss because they've cherrypicked the higher quality chips for them, and it's got a pretty big cooler too.
Really? Gosh, I gotta look more into this then! I have been looking at the 970 from gigabyte, plus i've heard lots of goodies about it, but i've also been really interested in the amp extreme from zotac though, because it's currently the best 970 in terms of performance, without overclocking and stuff yourself. and it also just looks so friggin nice But you would recommend the Gigabyte g1 gaming, over the amp extreme, or? They both have beefy 3 fan coolers and all, so I think the degrees would be fairly simelar, but if they've cherrypicked the ones for the g1, then maybe i'd be better off overclocking it myself, I dunno o:
Hard to say, I haven't looked much at Zotac cards, because (at least their cheaper ones) tend to have quality control issues here and there.
But that still looks damn solid, and with a cooler like that you can't go wrong. And it has a lot of good reviews.
Though in the end you'll always be at the mercy of the silicon lottery, cause there's variations in the quality of every chip, so overclocking "mileage" will vary.
I guess pick whichever is cheaper, or whichever you feel like?
Yeah, i've heard a fair bit of poop about the cheaper ones from Zotac, but not really heard anything but goodies for the amp extreme. But yeah I dunno, i'll just have to wait and see which one I feel like getting when the time comes!
Can't go wrong either way. A 970 pretty much wrecks anything but the really demanding max settings in some games at 1080p.
I have one in my secondary rig and tweaked the settings in GTA V a little bit, and got a solid 100+ FPS average, and it wasn't even under full load either.
Oh gosh, that's impressive. The 970's are great. The only concern I have is skyrim, becaue it's incredibly vram demanding when you mod it, but... Oh well! Guess we'll see~
If it's a dell you might be able to upgrade it. I know there is usually little room for upgrading laptops, but depending on the model you might be able to. Unless of course the motherboard is what's going to be holding it back.
If you're not going to bother to make your own build, at least have the brains to not buy alienware. next thing you know he'll be buying $500 Falcon NW T-shirts.
