because human tissue causes Kuru disease which is a neurological disease that leads to extreme tremors and a drop in motor function.

To clear up everyone's confusion, Kuru is a prion disorder caused by misfolded proteins that cause other, normal-shaped proteins to misfold to be like them.
As vorarephilia points out, it is rare and isolated to one known geographical region.
And as many others pointed out, these proteins reside in the brain and CNS.

generally the only problems you would get from eating humans is if you eat the brains, you would have similar problems with other animals brains. But carnivores/omnivores are generally tough meat and not tasty, plus the whole sanctity of life thing are the main reasons not to eat humans.

I keep seeing this fact being spread around. Do people not understand what endemic means? Literally the first sentences of the first 3 websites google brought up when "kuru disease" is searched.

Similar to CJD, kuru is a progressive neurologic disorder that occurs primarily in the Fore natives who inhabit a tiny pocket of the New Guinea highlands. You need to login to view this link

Kuru is a rare and fatal brain disorder that occurred at epidemic levels during the 1950s-60s among the Fore people in the highlands of New Guinea. www.ninds.nih.gov/disorders/kuru/kuru.htm

Kuru is an incurable degenerative neurological disorder endemic to tribal regions of Papua New Guinea. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kuru_%28disease%29

so unless you took a road trip to Papua New Guinea and ate tribal brains, you are not going to get Kuru.

Why would anyone drive there just to eat human brains? That's what importation is for.

Because I'm an idiot and I'm too lazy to look it up myself, what does "endemic" mean?

only occurs in a particular region.

Mad cow disease is basically Kuru with a much longer incubation period in humans because it's cross species, just saying. Coming from a steak loving Texan.

I'm pretty sure that's only brain tissue. Human muscle and skin and what-not is fine so long as it is cooked enough; very similar to pork.

I heard it contains some protein that leads to already said disease

generally only if you eat the brain
if the humans are infected with certain diseases you could get it from eating them, but that could happen from other animals too (mad cow disease)
