This is a GIF of a woman in the market having a prank played on her.
A GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) is an image file which is compressed to minimize transfer times.
The format is typically implemented to take a short clip out of an existing video. There are many Animators that will compile multiple still images to create an animated effect, some of which are very good at what they do.
There has been wide spread debate regarding the pronunciation of the word, splitting the internet community into 2 parties. The Hard "g" Party and the Soft "g" Party. The former will typically listen to a harder, more aggressive form of "Rap", "Hip-Hop", "R&B" music, including artists such as Ghostface Killah and Busta Rhymes. The latter will listen to a softer, more passionate form of "Rap", "Hip-Hop", "R&B" music, including artists such as R-Kelly and Keith Sweat.
But I digress. The creators of the file format Bob Berry and Steve Wilhite came forward with sauce, stating that in an anecdotal spin on the popular JIF commercial, one of them said "Choosy Programmers Choose GIF" with a soft "g" sound (There is further debate stating Berry was wittier and said it, yet there is no way to be certain, as both took a very poignant stance that they were not sure who said it). This ultimately lead to an uproar in the community, causing mass hysteria and utter chaos. Some attribute the 6 minute Google Blackout of 2013 to the break of the news, billions of people searching for sauce on the issue, causing an almost 40% decrease in internet traffic in an unprecedented event.
