They're finally waking up.

THEY HAVE A CHANCE!
User avatar #49 to #14 - privoxy (08/25/2015) [-]
Unfortunately, we probably don't. Since other bigger parties work together, they all put their votes together.
User avatar #34 to #1 - northleech (08/25/2015) [-]
It's actually pretty funny, because Sweden Democrats are a really ******* awful party, their politics are **** ...BUT...They are the only party that dare take up the immigration problem, and because people are just so damn fed up they get votes anyway, which should cause other parties to wake up.
User avatar #43 to #34 - admiralen ONLINE (08/25/2015) [-]
i think about 0.5% of sweden actually knows the proper politics of the party they vote for
besides, its not like the other parties arent **** as well
User avatar #41 to #34 - askafj (08/25/2015) [-]
"their politics are **** "

care to elaborate on that?
User avatar #42 to #41 - northleech (08/25/2015) [-]
To be fair, i've not read up on how they are nowadays, but when they started out they only carried themselves with the whole "keep Sweden Swedish!" agenda, but had no real economy plan or people within their ranks who knew **** about politics (except Jimmy Åkesson maybe, and even he came off as incredibly ignorant when debating with other party leaders)
User avatar #45 to #42 - askafj (08/25/2015) [-]
Well if you look up debates with Jimmie Åkesson you can easily see that he crushes a lot of people.

He also brings up that some parties do not have a plan for the economy.
User avatar #46 to #45 - northleech (08/25/2015) [-]
That's good to hear actually, I hope they turn into a real ass party (maybe they are, i'm not up to date) and they'll get my vote.
#36 to #34 - anon (08/25/2015) [-]
It should. But it won't.

Malmö is pretty much 3rd world nowadays.
User avatar #56 to #7 - davidteninch (08/25/2015) [-]
Except "3rd world" refers to countries that were neutral during the cold war, it has nothing to do with their wealth. For example, Switzerland is a third world country.
User avatar #66 to #56 - crampers (08/25/2015) [-]
Yes if you talk about the cold war you categorize it like that - but ONLY when talking about the cold war.

Else Third world refers to poor countries with bad living standards.
#60 to #7 - headaxe (08/25/2015) [-]
I've lived in asia most of my life, visited many, many 3rd world countries and im currently studying at Lund. Malmö is very, very, very rich in comparison, even in the places the arab immigrants live. Granted, it didnt feel like göteborg or stockholm it felt much safer than vietnam or northern thailand.
#64 to #60 - anon (08/25/2015) [-]
yeah but malmö is in sweden. its in bad shape for a city in sweden, the fact that it is even up for a third world scenario discussion says it all. cant really compare it to northern thailand with its farmers
User avatar #65 to #64 - blacktitan (08/25/2015) [-]
But that is what the guys is comparing Malmö to....
#12 - slyblade (08/25/2015) [-]
Whether you like the party or not this is probably far closer to a good thing than a bad one.
User avatar #31 to #12 - sodapops (08/25/2015) [-]
I really don't like their politics. They want to make the companies way stronger and the unions and workers all but powerless. It's a really important issue. I wouldn't much like to get lower pay and more overtime. But if they can keep Fi, V and MP out of the government, they'll have my vote. And of course, they are the only ones who dare say that the immigration policy is a trainwreck. And most importantly, they want to bring the power back home from the EU which is awesome.
User avatar #11 - qwarthos (08/25/2015) [-]

I'm not smart with this sort of stuff, what does this mean for Sweden?
User avatar #17 to #16 - phisk (08/25/2015) [-]
It means that our major parties have dug their own grave by refusing to debate and cooperate with what is viewed as a "racist party". The issue with immigration has been on the rise for quite some time, and all major parties refuse to discuss the matter to avoid being labeled as xenophobic. This in turn has netted the Sweden Democrats a huge increase of voters; after the next election cooperating with them might not be an option, but a necessity; if they don't outight win the election.
User avatar #18 to #17 - crustypizza ONLINE (08/25/2015) [-]
So what benefits would Sweden get?
User avatar #19 to #18 - phisk (08/25/2015) [-]
The Sweden Democrats lobby for reduced immigration, cracking down on begging, and a reprioritization of state funds from immigration services to support of the elderly and the homeless among other things. Other than that particular point they are just your run-of-the-mill social democrats.
User avatar #26 - lodisboeg (08/25/2015) [-]
Having lived in Sweden my whole life, and following politics lazily for the last 10 or so I can say that all the other parties are retared when it comes to handling the Swedish Democrats.

The thing is, immigration has been a taboo subject when it comes to critizism.
SD has a pretty clear anti-immigration agenda, so the reaction from all the other parties has been to completely ignore SD, and any issue regarding immigration. It is only this summer that I've seen non-SD people even talking about immigration maybe, possible costing money, and maybe, possibly not being handled optimally. Which probably is a grave understatement.

But, before now no party, except SD, nor media has touched the immigration issue, which has made SD the only ones touching on it. And people of course realized that this was retarded. I mean, of course immigration should be a political issue, just as healthcare or education, so SD, as LITERALLY THE ONLY ONES even talking about immigration has gained more and more support.

The other right-wing and liberal parties and debaters are starting to flip now, so we'll se if I have to vote for them or not.

User avatar #4 - kristovsky (08/24/2015) [-]
As if this was anything but inevitable. What's funny is how everyone it seems outside Sweden thinks the Sweden Democrats are some kind of Nazi organisation, when in reality they would be considered probably mildly conservative at best by even British standards.

"Oh no they said multiculturalism is bad! They must be extremist Nazi racists! Oh god they are gunna take away my dildos and cuckold porn this is the third reich all over again"
User avatar #40 to #4 - askafj (08/25/2015) [-]
That is because the media is controlled by the other parties.

They are trying their hardest to make it look like our Democrats are a bunch of nazis.

good for them

i mean it's not exactly shocking or anything. i find that political views tend to shift every once in a while, and nationalism is on the rise pretty much everywhere, so it was expected that sweden would follow the same trend

We need to decrease immigration, I live in a very small town in northern Sweden, any empty housing we have is taken up by immigrants, we have several that "lives" on the same address just so they can get some of that sweet tax money,I should not complain since they keep me employed (I teach them swedish) but we don't have enough teachers to put them in introductory swedish. We have atleast 45 "students" waiting and more is coming since everyone from Eritrea gets to stay.

Not to mention that the people coming in mostly ends up in cheap apartments, stacking.
The area they inhabit literally becomes a ghetto, theft & burglary often happens in the vicinity of that area.

Question, which town in the north? If you are willing to share

swed fag here. i can tell you that it is not only a real possibility that the swedishdemocrats (the nationalist party, SD for short) will become the largest party next election, it is becoming the most likely scenario.

there are basically two major parties in sweden. the red S and the blue M (look it up yourselves for more details). S is the currently largest party and is now lead by the biggest moron to ever enter politics (the swedish G.W. Bush basically) and his advisors and co-workers are proving themselves to be so inept and incompetent that he has so far done nothing but embarrass himself. everyone expected M to soon after the election do the rational thing and make a vote of no confidence or force a new election which they would have (according to statistics) won big time. this would have lead to more or less the killing blow to S and their allied parties. however, since a new election also would have benefited the SD they instead decided to make a agreement with S. in the case where a vote will end in M's favour against S thanks to votes from SD, M will lay down their votes no you are not reading that wrong. an agreement to lose . this obviously pissed people off something fierce, something that seem to have completely missed thanks to the media continually demonising SD for their views on immigration which is basically "we can't take more immigrants, we do not have the housing, we do not have the jobs and we do not have the money." now with all the wisdom of a particularly dimwitted monkey M decided to make another deal with S to start to mutually discuss the immigration politics. this, again, obviously pissed people off. after M so throughly ****** over their own voters and all other blue voters more and more voters are expressing the opinion of voting SD as they are the party that most represent their views and doesn't want to **** them over. S has the same problem, with their voters being largely lower middle-class workers they are getting more and more pissed that so much taxes need to be sunk into the black hole the immigration politics now represent.

and that, fellow FJ'ers, is why sweden will most likely see SD as the majority party by a landslide. hell, it might even happen next year or even later this year if SD demands the new election that M pussied out of.

Round and round the cycle goes. Bad times breed strong people. Strong people overpower weak people and bring good times. Good times breed weak people. Weak people outnumber strong people and bring bad times. Bad times breed strong people. Lather. Rinse. Repeat. Again and again and again, across millenia, across continents, across cultures, the cycle just keeps going round and round and round and round and round and round and round.

Who wants to guess which section of the cycle we're at right now? Hint: You know ****** ****** when even the german nationalists start standing up for themselves. You know, those guys who were too afraid to complain about anything, because they were afraid they'd be called nazis, just a couple of years ago. Now even Sweden's making an effort to pull its' head out of its' ass.
