Then theres Bethesdas' previous works. If you havent played them yet, i suggest you go back and play them, at least from morrowind up. You can get mods to fix the poor graphics, and combat system.

Also there is Kingdoms of Amalur (i know it was developed by satan EA, but i enjoyed it. as long as you can look past its half-assed lip sinking.) However i believe you will need to download origin to install it. EA tryna get their slice of the online videogame store pie i guess.

The witcher series is one of my personal favorites. Not quite as open-world as the others, but excellent.

Dragon Age: Origins. Avoid/ignore Dragon Age 2. Also, the add-ons are pretty fun and give you some extra gear, and Inquisition is an awesome expansion.
