Such Racy. What did you just say to me, mortal? I'll have you know I am Alduin, First Born of Akatosh and I am the World-Eater and I have eaten over 300 souls i

What did you just say to me, mortal? I'll have you know I am Alduin, First Born of Akatosh and I am the World-Eater and I have eaten over 300 souls in Sovngarde. I am a Dovah and Chieftain of the Dragons. You are nothing to me but just another mortal. I will feast on your soul in Sovngarde. You think you can say that to me in Nirn and not face consequences? Think again, Dovahkiin. As we are speaking, I am contacting my Dragons and your location is being tracked so you better prepare for my return, mortal. The return that wipes out all living things. You will pay for your defiance, Dovahkiin. I can be anywhere, anytime, and kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that is just with my teeth to your neck. Not only did I defeat your fellow mortals, but I will consume your soul as well in Sovngarde, mortal. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your defiance would have brought upon you, you could have not used your tongue. But you could not, you did not, and now I shall feast on your soul, Dovahkiin. die now, and await your fate in Sovngarde.

If you ever doubt his badassedry, remember he was the first president to ever face an assassination attempt. He was leaving the funeral of a congressman near the National Mall when an assassin pulled out a pistol and fire. Unfortunately for the assassin, the pistol didn't go off. Jackson hearing the click and turning to see the pistol proceeded to take his hickory cane and start beating the life out of his assassin. Now as Jackson continued his game of wack-a-jerk some people began to rush to his side, the first person there was Davy Crockett who tried to stop Jackson. During the beating a second pistol was used by the assassin which also failed. Now Jackson having been in over 13 confirmed duels, rumored to be as many as a hundred unconfirmed duels, was not frightened by the second pistol but just got madder and started hitting harder. Finally, Jackson was hauled off kicking and swearing by Crockett and several other congressmen for fear of Jackson murdering the unfortunate fellow.
For courage like that and the fact he hated paper money and the banks wanted to do something to spite him forever he was put on the 20 dollar bill

well when you break a treaty and then murder entire tribes of native americans and piss on congress and act like a tyrant...yea you should expect to be assassinated. Andrew Jackson was a dick, not a badass. try telling a native american that Andrew Jackson is a badass president.

im not a native american but im just saying you shouldn't glorify someone who deserved what he had coming to him

False, President James K Polk said he would finish the westward expansion of America in 4 years, then retire. He accomplished his task with the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo his fourth year and didn't run for a second term.

He was also the only president who paid off the entire national debt. Coincidentally he was also the one responsible for destroying the national bank. Too bad that people only remember him for the Native American thing, because destorying the bank was the single most important thing he's ever done. Probably one of the few presidents that truly understood the dangers of a private bank controlling the supplies of money.
#37 to #31 - mohawkwarrior (02/23/2014) [-]
Actually, when I was in school, they only ever talked about him paying off the debt, and foiling assassinations. How he was so great, and rose America to amazing heights. They totally glossed over the MASSACRES!
User avatar #47 to #31 - damping (02/23/2014) [-]
He ruined the US economy for many years. Destroying the national bank is actually the worst thing he did as president. The Fed is very important to our economics stability. Learn to economics.
#50 to #47 - anon (02/23/2014) [-]
no you learn economics, the banks were corrupt and needed to be destroyed. national banks caused the catastrophic damage that jackson is accredited for not the destruction of.
User avatar #54 to #50 - damping (02/23/2014) [-]
IS that why the crash happened 6 years after he destroyed the bank? And after the bank was reestablished we didn't have as big of crash until the Great Depression? You are a moron.

the reason america has florida was because jackson just decided one day "i'm gonna invade florida and kill a ******* of spanish". and he did, and the rest of the government was like "you can't do that" and then they realized "oh wait now we have a bunch more land" an then they shut the **** up

When dueling Charles Dickinson, Jackson knew that Dickinson was a great shot. Jackson came up with the plan to let Charles fire first so that Jackson could take his time and make sure he hit his mark. So they started the duel and Charles shot Jackson right in the chest, Jackson took the bullet and shot Charles in the abdomen. Charles died several hours later.

Don't forget during the Battle of New Orleans, Jackson led his men against the British and he was severely outnumbered. But he still slaughtered a chunk of the Redcoats, while suffering from only less than 50 American force deaths. The British lost ten times that amount.

When Jackson entered office, he was in his sixties. His time of reign was known as the "Jacksonian democracy", which promoted the rights of individuals and the working force. He got rid of Clay's private bank system, and further promoted the ideals of Manifest Destiny. Jackson vowed to eliminate the "elitists" in the congress, vetoing 17 major bills passed by congress, as he considered them to infringe on the rights of individuals.

If you look at him from the eyes of a Democrat or a Liberal, he's not that bad.
