And before you are confused with my "proof" coming from the metal gear wiki, if you research hard enough you'll come across the same definition given by the "inventor" of the term Meme. (good luck getting past all the le meme sites)
also, after reading throught the metal gear wiki, this is a very narrow definition of meme. They use it as a replacement for stereo type, but its more of a unit. Just as there are millimeters and liters, there are memes spread through a culture, each representing and idea or style spreading form person to person.
closer to the definition. Still merely stating culture or stereotype would be a better option. Meme is too general a term. What he is refering to belongs to the subset of generalized concepts of the human psyche. Greed is a meme to a certain extent, true enough, but in the way he describes it, raiden is a counterexample to his world view. A world view that doesn't survive a counter example.
Meh i'll just chalk it up to the character is insane or the writer didn't put much thought into a hack and slash.
well i knew about the recurring concept meaning of the word. I remember Dawkins response to the internet usage of the word. Still there are better words to use in such a scene.
