>Be in metal sculpting class
>see this idea on the internet a while ago
>decide to try and make one
>take forever with a plasma cutter getting all the pieces just right
>for every petal i make i probably lose a square foot of sheet in mess ups
>after days i finally have all the petals with leaves i have painstakingly worked spine designs into
>i have every piece carefully numbered and lined up and set it in a box on a shelf so i can assemble it the next day
>the shelf has a solid rule of you don't touch it if you didn't put it there
>the next day while searching for a welding mask i notice my box is gone
>i look over at a table to see some guy welding so badly it sounded like he was sending morse code
>i pat him on the back and get him to hold up to see if my fears are true
>it is so
>he has taken at least 12 hours of solid proud work and managed to slag it into scales for a fish
>no way to salvage any of it and my professor says that he can't count the work i did for my grade but it would all go to his
>mfw he tells me "i didn't know it was yours" and "maybe you should have put it somewhere that was safe"

bitch please, thats something you make in intro to metalwork, just stamp designs, bend metal, and meld w/ oxidation

The details are where the expertise comes out, any nancy can stamp metal, but the adding the ridges on the leaves and the curves to the petals, that's craftsmanship

Quick question,
I've actually made a couple roses like this (Mine are more simple, but not half bad to look at) and all the leaves I make on the stem are always just like hammered in, don't look too good. Do you know how to make the little wavy parts on the leaf to make it seem like an actual leaf?
