The $100 million crowdfunded space sim Star Citizen just demoed procedural planets in a livestream. Everything in the movie is actually in game. There's a longer clip which shows them playing around with it afterward here:

They're also selling a limited number of game copies at only $30 (normally it's $45) to try to bring in new people. (It's still a very buggy alpha, so if you're interested make sure to do research, don't just buy in and expect a complete game).

I bought into the game months ago, 2.0 came out.. got in my ship about to take off, screen goes black. disconnected form the server. try again same thing. cant play the game I payed $50. hope this improves soon otherwise i'm gonna demand a refund.

The launch was buggy and overloaded. 2.1 should be coming out soon and hopefully the bugs will be fixed (and the initial rush will have died down).

Usually they don't give refunds though. If you ask, make sure to be polite, they'll be more likely to refund you (since they don't technically have to).

i want this to live up to the hype,
i want to come out and be the game of the decade, something awe inspiring and perfect
but we have had so many failed games come from funding.
