Well, his secret identity could be a police officer for all he knows. In fact, that would make fighting crime way easier for him. Spider-man doesn't have anyone like Commissioner Gordon helping him out.

He does have detective Watanabe who helps him from time to time. She also becomes a vigilante by the name of wraith when she feels the law is to restricting to stop the villians.

I only know of one hero that actually did that, might be hard for a vigilante to be restrained by the law though.

Why does this look so....anime?
#35 to #16 - anon (08/05/2015) [-]
I'd guess it's from an animated series that was outsourced to Japan. Though I can't find anything on it.

Because faggot weaboos are forcing anime into everything.

I'm not saying that it looks bad, I was just curious.

Ignore this anon, he says this about anything remotely animesque. He'd call off Teen Titans for being ******** .

This is the first time I've posted as an anon hating on anime. I think you have me confused for someone else, mate.

that's a thing I've always wondered. why don't more characters that have superpowers go to the police and say "look at this neat power I have *shows power to them*, I'd like to help fight crime with you".

has a character ever done that?

Spidey's cops used to side with him, until they changed it. Heck, pretty sure they gave him awards and ****

Aside from the obvious bit about government using them or friends and family being in danger, there's also the fact that they'd have to go by police procedure.
That means gathering evidence and going on patrol in a car and letting a dude walk if you don't have the evidince.

TL;DR- lots of heroes have to strong a sense of justice to be restrained by protocol.

The general fear of going public with your Superpowers is that

1. Governments or other Organizations will target you to try and duplicate your abilities.
2. Your family and loved ones may be harmed.
3. You will get your ass sued for all the collateral damage you cause.

You forgot the big one:

4. Governments or other Organizations will try and dissect you to see how your powers work

pretty sure there was a civil war based on this exact thing.
User avatar #11 to #4 - morelazors (08/04/2015) [-]
They should make a movie about that!
#34 to #11 - emperorwatergate (08/05/2015) [-]
Yeah, and Black Panther, Spider-Man, and Baron Zemo should be in it!

Why has nobody thought of this before?

Pic unrelated.

**rollfourexplain used "*roll 1, 0000-9999*"**
**rollfourexplain rolls 0,935**

If it had all of those mediocre superheroes that don't get made into huge badasses I would love it even more. I guess I just hope the plot and writing are good, but that's what I judge everything on.

I wonder if it would mention severe cases of autism. Even as a passing reference that would spark some interesting real world discussions.

and I just answered my own question.

Robocop didn't do that, he was created and used as a tool by the police.

You asked if a superhero ever WENT to the police to team up
User avatar #26 to #12 - donbionicle (08/05/2015) [-]
Also, he was a cop to begin with.
