tig/ ytte:
When I was a freshman in high school
there was a boy named Chris who was
a senior who had autism and he really
loved Hotwheels. He always wanted to
show people his tiny cars and instead
of the popular crowd making fun of
him they got excited with him. On his
birthday everyone bought him
Hotwheels and he went home with a
backpack full of them. For
homecoming they voted him king and
gave him a cape with Hotwheels on it.
Sometimes high school isn' t so bad.

I guess i'll take the red thumbs for agreeing with you, but i do.
You could say that it doesn't prepare them for real life, or that they're probably making fun of the poor kid by being nice and laughing to themselves about how excited he gets... but at the end of the day it just strikes me as sortof mean to put someone like that at the center of attention for no reason other than that they're special/retarded/autistic whatever the word is you're suppose to use to describe them.

I know it's just high school and none of that **** really matters, but 1) it's a **** you to the kid because that's not how real life works and 2) it's a **** you to anyone who might have actually wanted to be prom king... i mean, idk how it was there but some schools have kids who really put work into that sorta **** .

Actually no, it's interesting, people react REALLY harshly to anyone that ***** on anything heartfelt. These sappy stories are *********** bread and butter. Because people are SO emotional at the end of them, you don't even have to try hard and it triggers them. I could have said something a lot more hateful than what I did, but it wouldn't have had the same impact as something innocuous. Cold, lazy cynicism drives them nuts.

Hello anon Im person. For me its like I dont want to read this stuff cause I'll just get mad at the fact that nobody would care if the person wasn't disabled. You should treat Disabled and non-disabled people the same way. If there was a poor child and a autistic/crippled poor child sitting next to each other but only one could get a free toy 9/10 times a person would give it to the disabled child and not even think about the other kid.

I actually kind of agree.
I would kind of be weirded out if people were nice to me just because I was retarded
and not because they actually liked me.

It's like , they aren't really my friends, they're just nice to me because they just want to feel better about themselves. . .
User avatar #63 to #61 - maxismahname (12/21/2015) [-]
This is a much better way to word it, and I hate that I kind of agree too. Honestly though, as long as everybody is happy at the end then it doesn't matter what I say

User avatar #10 to #5 - dbqpdb (12/21/2015) [-]
I'd guess because instead of treating him nicely as a normal person they all went out of their way to give him special treatment. It's like that South Park episode with the deformed nurse.
#18 to #10 - anon (12/21/2015) [-]
But he's not a normal person. Treat physically disabled people like normal people, but when you're talking to someone who's actually got some level of mental retardation, you do have to use the right language.

Even just a common autistic person might simply not understand you at all unless you're 100% literal, for example.
User avatar #25 to #18 - dbqpdb (12/21/2015) [-]
I'm not talking normal as in "oh he can attend the same classes and do everything every other student does", I mean normal as in "oh, smile and be polite to him like any other student, but there's no need for special treatment beyond what's needed for his handling and education".

**anonymous used "*roll picture*"**
**anonymous rolled image** Yes, I am cold and brittle like you. We cold-hearted people always feel the urge to just hate the goodness in men. Something inside us just envies that love. We wish we were that autistic person who was treated better because all our lives we had to work to gain any respect. But, instead of using our gifts to earn that respect, we just sit idly by and hate the respect others get because we know we have to work for our own respect.

We are also known as lazy jerkoffs who don't want to work for everything.

had an autistic kid in my primary school, he loved car toys too. i once brought my transformers car to school to show everyone (i was 7 at the time) and he saw it and decided he wanted it, when i tried to take it back he basically went full chimp and started smashing at me with his fists.

the teachers just told me to give him it back. so i lost my toy until 3 days later when the school eventually listened to my side and realised the toy was mine not his.

You should've ganged up on him and beat the living ******* **** off him. I watched in horror once when my classmate ******* kicked this autistic kids guts in when he had for some retarded reason, jumped on my classmates bike. I mean, my classmate ******* grounded this kid who where two years younger than us and twice as small as us. He ******* dragged this kid throught the pavement and delivered punches all over his body and i believe i saw a kick or two. The funniest thing was that there where only me and another dude watching this straight out ******* massacre and the other kid just had a red face from all the giggles he let out, he was kinda fat which made it twice as fun. But man, i have never seen anyone got that beat up and i thought he would be mentally damaged but no one would even notice because he was a retard before the asskicking. He would always mess with or destroy our bikes and one time he ******* spat on me so i was about to kick his ass until the teacher saw but she got my back and yelled at this retard.

These kids need to get physically treatment because once they grow up they will mess with the wrong dude who will probably kill him.

I personally can't stand being around most disabled people. Like one fat disabled chich coming out of a class to wash her hands, and she keeps saying 'don't even ask what happened' and sighs deeply when I don't ask, and then repeats about 4 times before walking away, looking behind her to see if I care, and then going back to her class. And a few other disabled teens that for some reason try and socialize with me. Maybe its my German blood rushing through my veins.

We had a guy named Tim who always like to show off his new shirts. Since one of my friends was his cousin he'd often come to our group to say hi. Whenever he had a new shirt on he'd puff out his chest until you commented what a nice shirt he had on. Tim was nice, everyone was nice to Tim.

There was also a guy Chris who would go around with some paper on a clipboard asking everyone for their signature. Most people were good about it and would sign. Some were idiots and would write insults to him knowing he couldn't read them. Worst of all though was some jackasses would tell him to do things, like ask a girl to see her bellybutton or something, and then he'd get in trouble for it.

Palestine, short, huge MLP fan, wears a out of place leather jacket, acne, combat boots, crazy into MLP, all that **** .

My friend Jake used that team viewer program on his computer one time to help him with a "virus" but really just looked at all his files and history.
Holy **** , that ****** had GIGS AND GIGS AND GIGS of just nothing but dogs, horses, anything animal related ******* dudes in the ass and history was just filled with it.

MLP porn obviously, that's what we expected, but most of it was just dudes getting ****** by horses and dogs.

Jake said he fixed it, got 20 bucks, and a few months later I told this black kid and he told ******* EVERYONE, Bob tried to get into fights, was always depressed, and we didn't seem him at school for a long time.

He was supposed to have died at the age of like 12 but made it to 17 and was supposed to graduate with us. That's all he wanted was to graduate high school with the rest of his class, but one night his sister found him in his room choking on his blood and he died. To honor him, the football team wore his name on the back of their helmets for the rest of the season, the student body voted him Mr. Panther (basically the Mr. popular superlative) and on graduation day his name was called and his mother came up to accept his high school diploma

My brother is named Chris and he is also Autistic. Severely autistic. He hits himself and others when he's angry along with making as much noise as possible, he is unable to communicate at all and very small thing set him off like making eye contact. And funnily enough, he plays sonic. Yeah, this sounds like some made-up ******** , but no, he plays sonic on gamecube and he's beaten every single sonic game available for it. He often says words he's heard randomly through the night, like "Cars" and sometimes he quotes movies, albeit very poorly. One of his favorite quotes being "This is me" from ratatouille. Anyway, to finally get on with the point I should have made 500+ letters ago, I wish my brother was more like the one talked about in the content rather than the barely domesticated ape that lives with me.

we had an autistic kid in our school who all the jocks and pops actually took in and took care of him. in JROTC, everyone loved him too and we generally took good care of him.
He was really good buddies with my dad cause my dad would always chaperone our JROTC trips, and my dad is a major peoples person.

We also had an autistic girl who everyone voted for as homecoming princess and she won of course. everyone is generally pretty good with her too.
it's not a very rare thing for people to take care of autistic kids. whether it's to not look like assholes or because they genuinely care is up for debate however.

That didn't happen in my first school until 4th grade when I beat the ever-living **** out of a 7th grader. That guy had to drop out due to missing two months of school because I broke a couple ribs on him and he got scared as **** . His former buddies decided to protect me from then on. Don't know why, never asked. Probably because they didn't want me to lose control again or they were scared as **** of me.

Second school had this big ugly guy who made fun of my weight. I dealt with it, until one day I started punching his face, first one cracked his glasses, next one splintered them so he couldn't open his eyes, that's when I began wailing. I knocked out one tooth, chipped another. It was fun.

Third school... People were cool, the only punching I did was in our boxing program, was tons of fun. I never made it past 3rd place though.

Oh yeah, I'm an aspie.

I was talking about a similar story to my uncle once, and he said one of the major differences between our generation and his generation is that we go out of our way for others. He explained that while they didn't outright bully other kids or treat them meanly, they also didn't vote these types of kids to homecoming king/queen, give them a play on the football team, raise money or hold functions for them without an adult telling them to do it, etc. Kids today are charitable without having to be told to by an adult
