Ten months of calculus based physics and hundreds of dollars in tuition fees has prepared me for this joke.

Schleif Jokekill, everything have a resistance, just becuase it is broke doesn't mean that it doesn't have resistance, everything have resistance, perhaps not the the value it was created for, but it have resistance.

A burned out resistor has infinite resistance.

The popularity of this comment is alarming, surely not everyone agrees that this is true.

Let's conduct a thought experiment:

You hold this burnt resistor in your hand that has "infinite resistance" and you complete a circuit with a powerline with the connection between you and the line being the burnt resistor.
Do you think this tiny burnt resistor will save your life from 120000v?

"infinite resistance" is a fallacy!

Went forward two pages and finally got the joke.

Jesus ******* **** I feel retarded.
I have a class on circuits in 4 days I'm gonna fail.

i like this, but the entire circuit may not...
User avatar #29 - xineous (07/31/2014) [-]
actually, the resistor would be much more resistive.
