Someone Said It

If I won the lottery I'd like to set up a burger van in a really obscure place, like in a forest or in the middle of the Sahara Desert. I'd have lottery winnings so the lack of customers wouldn't be a struggle but it would be funny as piss to see some traveler walk over to my van and assume they've lost their mind or some **** . Maybe wear a an animal mask as soon as I saw someone coming so they'd be confused as ****

wow a bar like that would be a cesspool of autism, retardation, screaming womenchildren, manchildren, and socially rejected ugly ***** .

We have a place here in Vancouver called EXP Bar and Grill made for gamers. The whole menu, and drinks are themed after games. My favourite is the Triforce Burger, a godly combination, of Bacon, Beef patty (With the Triforce burnt into it), and Chicken. Also, game videos of speed runs and such play on TV's in the place, and game music is always playing. It is a great place.

The reason that isn't a thing is because if the MLP bar existed, it would be nothing short of a nightmare.

Becaus eyou can follow sports just by watching, but with TV shows you have to listen. Went to an Applebees which had Monk on once, mfw

Everyone's missign the also obvious: people bet on sports.

I love sports (mostly hockey and real football) but sports bars get a lot of buissness too from gamblers.

Oh, I don't know. Maybe it's because I can't get a room of 3 people to shut the **** up when we're watching Game of Thrones.

You're asking for a room full of 50+ people who are there to socialize.

Man this one kid was joining my friends watching Breaking Bad and would not shut the hell up. And of course he demanded we all watch Dr Who in absolute silence and hit a kid for texting during. Like ******* punched him.

I thought sports are usually on the tv because they're neutral I taste, and they don't need sound and subtitles to be able to watch, just the scoreboard in the corner. Plus it's not so engaging to take people away from social interaction and you can watch sports by taking occasional peeks at the tv.

Their idea just sounds like it'd be the tv's on with sound on, and it'd have to be decently loud to be coherent. Then there would be minimal talking, or shouting/repeating lines (hell even sports get people shouting, god knows what putting on the fandom stuff would do) and a complete noisy mess with too much focus on the tv than social interaction. Sounds better used in a theatre or something, not a bar.

at least that last guy gets it.

Also, just imagine how weird it would be, you could cut the awkwardness in the air with a knife. And it would be a total sausage-fest, or a ******** of dudes worshiping the one/few chicks that do go.

God, yeah. I'm not a sports guy myself, but I think this would be a ****** idea. I honestly ******* hate Fandoms.

I'm more than 80% sure that if you did that, the TV companies could sue. Even if you didn't charge admission, you are technically using their shows for profit, and would have to pay a fee. Its not an issue they deal with in most places that have a TV where the channel can change, but thats because it isn't the main focus of the bar. If a bar was soley show and fandom themed, I can see it being shut down id they didn't pay their dues, or used any copyrighted material in the designs. Sports bars have to include a small fee as a part of their taxes for what they do, I imagine a fandom bar would be an even bigger one. Not to mention, even if it would work, everyone would either be all shy and hide in the corners, or get in ******* fights all the time.

My friend told me about this Dark Souls themed cafe in Tokyo. I believe that it should be like some Mecca for Dark Souls fans. Everyone must make a journey there once in his or her lifetime.

A Mecca for Dark souls? I mean it's good, but its not the pinnacle of anything.

I am an average internet lemon, and my advice is to go to proper old grandpa style pubs.

Much quieter and the little company there is is much more pleasant.

If i'm not mistaken the guy from Zero Punctuation owned a place called the "Mana Bar" not sure if it's still open or anything. But lets just say the whole theme bar has been done before... often to poor results. Cause lets be honest, how often do nerds go out to bars? I'm a nerd and the only time I go to bars is with friends to be the DD since I don't drink.

This picture is from a bar called The Way Station, in Brooklyn, NY. It has many show inspired drinks, including lots of Whovian inspired drinks (like the sonic screwdriver, a play on the classic screwdriver drink) Also, TARDIS bathroom, how cool is that? There's also a bar in Manhattan called Professor Thom's, just off Union Square, which shows new episodes of Game of Thrones. You get a free drink if you show up in costume, and free shots when a main character dies (so I can only imagine how it got this past Sunday, and how it will get...but spoilers)
Anyways, tldr: These bars actually exist but you have to get off your lazy ass and find them instead of bitching.
