So Finland just beat Russia. Russia is out of the games now, but we are kinda expecting a little "accident" to happen, like 140% sure of that.. I'm surprised at the fight Latvia gave Canada. Finland russia ice hockey putin Nuke

Why are you downvoted? It's always Finland, Sweden, Russia, Canada, USA, Czhec(?) Republic, and Slovakia at the top.

Neither do I.
But I'm beginning to become more interested after actually watching a match.
It's fun ****.
Trouble is being English it doesn't get shown on TV too much.

Because the Finns are missing their 4 top forwards while the Russian team containing several superstars is almost completely healthy (I think they had to replace one guy from their original roster, but he wasn't one of the top stars).

it was a surprise because Russia was one of the favourites to win the gold this year because of the team they had and being on home ice.

Ugh. Our (Canada's) lines are a disaster right now. It's like they think they'll automatically win because they have pretty much all top NHLers, but they're struggling against weak teams. If they play like they have been against the Americans, it won't be pretty.

Your guys goalie was insane!!!!! stopped 55 shots!!!

I also heard that Canadas total salary for the players would add up to like 140,000,000 US dollars and latvia would be about 1.5 Mil, you guys should be super proud even though you lost 2-1!

Well, yes they are. I don't really care about them, and I'm regarded as weird anyway.

My friend started raging and throwing stuff around when Swedish guy beat a Finnish guy buy 0.2 seconds in skiing, stealing the bronze medal.

After my father comes from work, he spends the next five to seven hours watching the Olympics. Shouting is sure to be heard.

Plenty of other examples exist, and I'm just sitting there, reading biology or chemisrty.

1. That was well over 60 years ago and Russia was still get fisted by Stalin.

2. Russia had next to no experienced generals or commanding officers due to Stalins paranoia rampage. For Finland it would have been like a fully trained army going up against a bunch of 12 year olds trying to 360 quickscope everyone for their CoD montages.

Well... no. Russia Was experienced enough (sorta) and when you have the entire USSR against one tiny (can not into relevance) nation, then i would be pissing myself if i were a Fin. The Fins had hardly an army, and their generals (if they had any) would have been less experienced than Russia's. They had almost no rifles to even use. The Fin's won because of their tactical ingenuity and their ability to fight using guerrilla tactics. The Biathlon? Yeah the Fins invented that (Might have been the Norse, or Sweds, and the Fins just took the idea) with Ski Troops, able to ski up, shoot some ruski's then ski away before the Russians knew what hit them. The Fins also mimiced supply drop signals and the Russians pretty much sent the Fins supplies. The Fin's main battle rifle was actually captured Mosin Nagants, that they then refitted with better barrels, since most of the barrels were ****, and the Fins, unlike the Russians, actually prized marksmenship (to be continued)

(cont) and so with better Mosins, people like Simo Haya could just wreak the Russians. Simo Haya, btw killed over 450 Russians with only Iron sights. They called him the White Death, he hid by himself in a forest and picked off the Russians. He got shot in the face, turned around and killed the man who shot him. Rambo ain't got **** on this dude. The Russians pulled out because they couldn't fight the guerrilla tactics.

The Canadian game was pretty stressful yesterday. The fact they had a hard time against Latvia of all teams does not bode well for the upcoming against the US. That said, Latvia's goalies was an absolute beast in that game.

Its not that we had trouble with the team itself it was the goalie being a brick wall is what we had trouble with. out shot them 57-16 pure domination by Canada but i still give the Latvians credit put up a hell of a fight and gave me quite a scare.
