We are all like snowflakes   
   
We are born suddenly, come into the world, exist for a bit slowly moving towards inevitability, and if we make it long enough to find a proper place to rest, only to melt away and go back to which we came, though a few of us remain frozen in the memory of others, and even history.

...except, not really. If you had bothered to do a 30 second search of "snow under electron microscope" then you would have found numerous articles with this picture and many more taken at the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center (BARC) in Maryland using the US Department of Agriculture’s Low Temperature Scanning Electron Microscope (this is info taken from said articles).
