I'm okay with Bayonetta being put in the game, but it felt like they just picked her because she was the one they had to work the least for... Excluding Geno. But that's just speculation, I guess.
And Corrin is the new 'main character' in the newest Fire Emblem... which has not been released in the west. It hasn't even been out that long in Japan as far as I'm aware.
Excluding Bayonetta, the whole thing just keeps showing how much of a jerk Sakurai is with his lack of explaining anything.

At first I was upset with a new Fire Emblem character, especially a sword ************ . Then I realized the game wasn't out yet, in America at least, just like Roy was for melee, which was kinda cool.

And I saw some of Corrin's stuff, but it looked kind of ... weird and not too interesting. Don't really have a comment on that.
But I feel like a lot of other characters could have been put in instead, some actual Nintendo characters. Putting the obvious 'not gonna happen' aside, like Geno, there were things like K. Rool or Isaac from Golden Sun or, hell, Medusa from Kid Icarus.
There's also a severe lack of potential assist trophies. I know that isn't too important, but it's still nice to have. Like King Boo, Pettie Pirana, or whatever that thing is called, and they could throw in some Paper Mario characters or Super Star Saga characters to promote Paper Jam.
But they don't. <(' '<); It's just Fire Emblem.
