I call ******** on that. Slash wouldn't say that or directly throw **** after JB or 1D. Not that i like them, but Slash has way to much respect for music in general to throw **** after people making a career, wether it's in a genre he likes or not.

I like one direction better than most musicians. Their music is OK, but they seem like good people.

1. He never said that
2. Popular music has no bearing on your life
3. Why does anyone care about what's "good", good is subjective, so listen to what you like and don't give a **** about what others like

When you children grow a bit older, you won't care about whats "good" music and whats "bad" music, you come realise theres just music you like and music that doesn't interest you. You'll find your way into new genres and start to appreciate more and more stuff for what it is.

The saddest thing i see are people getting stuck in one genre and claim it to be the holy grail of music. You see it most with metalheads or emo kids who shout about how music is their life or some bollocks and listen to the same old **** every single day.

People like this are musical nazis. Anyone who thinks there is "bad" or "good" music doesn't understand music. There are people who play instruments badly, or write bad songs, but thats not the same as "bad" music. Groups like One Direction write bad songs, they don't write bad music. It doesn't interest me.

If there is someone out there who gets the same emotional high I get to when I rock out to, say "Ace of Spades" or "Apocalyptic Love" I don't care what song they're listening As long as they like it.

Music is not a competition.

if some people get the same feelings listening to Justin Bieber or One Direction that I get listening to Modest Mouse or The White Stripes, is there really a difference?
there isn't

That's a nice quote, but Slash didn't say that

I realize this is an unpopular opinion.

I like rock music. I know this is not unpopular.
However, the absolute worst thing about rock music is the long, drawn out, extended, guitar solos.

On, and on, and on, they go. And it all sounds the same and it drives me nuts. I can take solos less than 10 to 20 seconds, but anything more - awful.

Slash is a fantastic musician, don't get me wrong, but his music is just as repetitive as the next guys - I am aware he did not say this, but whoever made this picture has to realize the irony in claiming that Slash has called other music repetitive.
