Why do people always use Elder Scrolls games as an example of that? Do you have any idea how I play Fallout? I never bother killing civilian NPCs in Skyrim unless they're annoying as **** . Have a nice hat or sunglasses in New Vegas, though, and you're dead.

got bored after 50 hours
kept playing to 70 or so to see if i was missing somthing
i wasnt
i know 50 hours is a long time for most games but considering i have played oblivion for over 700 hours and am still not bored i think 50 is a bit of a dissapointment

TLDR oblivion is better
now the rage

I actually agree with you. I really enjoyed oblivion. especially the game-breaking acrobatics skill. I'm not even kidding. Acrobatics was my favorite skill.

You either die a villain, or you live long enough to see yourself become the hero.

Never could get into Skyrim, it was also too easy and boring.

Now Dungeon Siege, that's a real RPG.

Everything burned... no survivors

I've played a good 350 hours, still have one quest left (the ebony warrior) and I've never slaughtered people for fun. I don't like killing people who have done nothing against me.

I still regret having to kill poor Narfi for the Dark Brotherhood. At least he died thinking his sister was safe. Rest in peace you glorious delusional bastard

The Wrong Opinion with Joshuaww Warning: TL;DR Below

I have a hard time considering Skyrim a good game. I've never played Morrowind, so what I say can't be applied there, but it could also be applied to Oblivion and even Fallout to some extent (though, I think Fallout did some things better, but that's for a different discussion.)

Skyrim just is too much of a picture sort of thing. It boasts about how much you can do, and is designed around the idea of one character going through the whole game and doing every little thing. Your character is given unlimited potential, and essentially can be anything at any time. To a lot of people, this is a good fun thing, and I can respect that. However, it does not work for me.

Because the game is so designed with the idea of one character going through the world, the rest of the game is left to be rather bland and straight forward. Sure they offer some small things here and there for that one moment you want to do one strategy, but it's all just so simple and bland that playing any character that just specializes in one trick (coming mostly from an assassin's point of view), kinda stops feeling the NEED to do anything a certain way once their guild is done with.

Even in the guilds, you rarely need to be especially good at something. A warrior could go through the college with no need to change how they play at all or feel crippled by their lack of magic skills. They can just whip out their sword and five minutes later their the Archmage when all they really did magicy was that fireball for the entrance 'exam.' It makes the world feel very... well, stupid. Actually stupid and totally kills the immersion.

Now, most people could probably argue "Well, just make your one character for that guild and do it right." Yes, I could... but then the game pretty much ends at level 20.

I guess I'd just rather have one very complex and extravagant dish over a large and very bland buffet.

As level 40 something on one save and 80 on another, I can confirm this. I still love the game to death, but it saddens me that I've beaten all of the main quests twice over now and have nothing to do but pick random fights with people and creatures.
