It's not really all that hard it just has a very steep learning curve, as soon as you get used to your playstyle and how the game works you're fine. I played as a strength-tank with a greatshield and only really died much a Capra and S+O

The game isn't that hard, but it feels...Like a true adventure, sort of. You feel like you've earned every kill that you get, every advancement in the game has been the fruit of your labors. The games doesn't feed you anything, you can't level up from crafting daggers for an hour. Bosses hit hard, but you can hit hard as a truck as well if you are geared/skilled for it. By the end of the day, you will truly feel like the adventurer you play as, something the game did well. None of that "you should join the mages guild" when you are a grand master.

It's true a lot of the community think they're elite. Honestly it's not a hard game until you hit NG5+. If you just take your time and know to upgrade gear like in any traditional RPG it's really easy

The game isn't that hard, it just takes a lot of patience but it is really frustrating at times. If you pick off enemys one by one it is super easy but if you try and take on a group...yea say goodbye to your souls and humanity.

Nah.
It's just that people compare the two games all the time, and this is the kind of thing that happens a lot when you put someone who plays a lot of a game like Skyrim, in the DkS universe. I've played both.
Check out DarkSydePhil's DkS playthrough if you want to know what I mean. It's ridiculous.

Because Skyrim and Dark Souls were both released around the same time. Skyrim was greatly more popular.
DS fanboys are still butthurt over the fact their masochist digital self-mutilation of a game wasnt a popular as slaying dragons with awesome voice powers in a beautiful, open world.

I loved both games equally, and for different reasons. Popularity of the game makes absolutely no difference to me what so ever. I loved Skyrim because it was an amazing continuation of an amazing series.

I'd been playing since Daggerfall, and watching it evolve was great. (I was so ******* psyched when Oblivion was coming out and I saw that they had skeletons that would actually fall apart).

However, while you can sink hours and hours into Skyrim, I can hardly remember **** from that game. It was all fairly immemorable. Skyrim, while it's easy to grasp and has vast amounts of things to do, just completely failed to instill any real sense of lasting accomplishment in me.

That's what Dark Souls does. You remember **** from that game, that first rush of enjoyment when I got revenge on that fatass tutorial boss.. Skyrim doesn't compare at all in that regard. When I beat Skyrim? I was just like "meh". When I beat Dark Souls? "HOLY ******* CHRIST, I DID IT. IT'S FINALLY OVER. Time to start NG+".

Dark souls is only hard for the first couple of levels. Once I understood that it's a game of dodging stuff and hitting back only when they are off balance I hardly ever take any damage anymore from anything. In fact, I just went after Havel once I learned to parry and it was just sad how I took him down.

Because.
Dark Souls has a lot of the components that Skyrim has, and it's easy to compare the two. The differences lie in the way the games are played. Skyrim caters to the player a lot more than Dark Souls, and isn't as cutthroat, for lack of a better term. Skyrim is also a lot more quest oriented, has a main goal, and offers quite a bit more freedom.

You said "Dark Souls has no dragons"
That implies "The entire game"

Next, by technicality, all the dragons in Skyrim are Wyverns. Every. Single. One. So Skyrim has no dragons either by your logic. And not being able to kill it doesn't mean it's not there, it remains a dragon in the game. And past or not, it is still in the game, so it ******* counts. And how can we forget the 2 UNDEAD DRAGONS in the game? Or the Gaping Dragon? You call Seath a dragon, when he is the least dragony cunt there is, but ignore ALL the other dragons in the game for no ******* viable reason?

the gaping dragons isnt a dragon, i dont know too much about skyrim so if there are no dragons thats my mistake, all i know is that a wyvern has 2 back legs and walks on its wings, and dont know the factual side of this but i thought a game was the entierty and dlc was things that were added on, and the undead dragons are technicly dead and one is in another dimension, but if you want to get them in fine by me, but there are no dragons left in an healthy condition, i would go as far to say that the everlasting dragon is kinda crazy, u cant just let people cut off your tail that **** just not right...son?

But then, Seath isn't really a dragon either if you nitpick it that much. The Hellkite dragon is more of a wyvern like every Skyrim dragon, sure, but Seath outright doesn't have ******* legs, nor scales, nor even proper wings. He is a ******* mess. The Undead Dragons are undead, yes, but they are dragons.

The Everlasting Dragon is pretty healthy. Crazy or not, he is a dragon. I mean, Seaths a ******* nutjob too. There are many dragons in Dark Souls, just not normal dragons. But they remain dragons nonetheless.

depends on how specific you wanna be, in the lore they stated that seath had betrayed his own, so i guess the developers wanted him in the category but the developers also states that the hellkite dragon is a wyvern for more lore reasons they really just wanted a huge fire breathing thing with wings there just to **** you up . im not sure but i think they made their own system for their moderatly sized lizards, because im getting dizzy, but this was whole thing was about skyrim and darksouls dragon recemblanceand i think that got sorted out, and i dont think zombies are to be considerd humans

It's all about differences in game mechanics really. To be honest, I played both games, but Dark Souls captivated me, not Skyrim - I felt that it was mostly mindless slashing/blocking or spamming shouts/magic (also it felt pretty easy, thus i didn't played it for long - maybe about 12-15 hours).

Dark Souls on the other hand have a very hard and rewarding gameplay and fighting system (which is way more responsive, you must rely heavily on your experience, reflexes and tactics, and you can't heal yourself so easy or pause during fights). The game seems to be dark and more "mature" (at least IMO) than Skyrim. Also you must learn from your mistakes, and often be very patient, which is a virtue many people lack.

That's true, though like in most of games, turning up the difficulty only affects enemies stats and damage dealt, and even more often, it's quite unbalanced because mechanics stay the same (also it's common that while changing difficulty in options there is a information game was designed to played on "normal" settings) or still it's too easy because your character gets easily overpowered. It's hard to explain really, but it gets more frustrating and/or not much more rewarding.

I bought Aota when I was on NG+7, I haven't fought him on the first play-through yet.

Well I wouldn't call it impossible. You could get the fall control spell and/or just not use the calamity ring for the drops. Not sure if the calamity ring just helps enemy damage or all damage taken.

well since it is going to be with a curse on, i suppose you're right, but if not with a curse, it's no fun playing hollow

Whether or not the Dragonborn is a pussy or an overpowered deity depends entirely on how he's leveled.

It's possible to have 80% spell absorbtion and 85% physical damage resistance, as well as immunity to all elements, damage reflection, and even an emergency healing perk for when your health gets low. I don't know what kind of stuff is in Dark Souls, but I pretty sincerely doubt that anything could kill the Dragonborn in one hit.

The kill is based off of a Dark Souls game mechanic. Where you can backstab an opponent for critical damage.
