I don't really have that much new stuff because the pen for my drawing tablet was missing for a while, but I thought I'd share... I think I'm sorta pretty decent at art? Maybe?
Lemme say this on paper it is, but if you're not form flexic language grupo (Polish, Russian etc.), but from analitic group (English) is gon be a pain in the butt. But it's ok.
Maybe if I ever have time. In less than a month I leave the country and am gonna be insanely busy for 5 months, then get back just in time for my summer job.
Candlelight makes really hard shadow lines, and since light bends it should give an thin back light to the far shadow corners. I think adjusting the lighting in your top picture would really make it pop and give it a much more intense and demure feeling.
Other than that, damn good job! Keep up the good work!
That's actually a pretty old picture, but thank you for the advice. xD It's from a deck of tarot cards that I may or may not someday finish, and if I do, I'll keep the shadows in mind.
It's not a perfect example, but kinda like this. Something from when I was like 11 or so. Light can be either very flattering or very unforgiving. Bend it to your will! Oh mighty penmaster!
Thats what I figured, since the candle glow hits mainly her arm there on the far side. But in my own opinion, I think for the mood--especially if its tarot cards--candle light only would make a dramatic color contrast.
Definitely something I'll keep in mind. On the other hand, it might be tricky to do that and still have everything visible? A lot of the stuff in there is symbolism that it kinda needs... It's a tricky balancing act. xD
(I hope I don't seem ungrateful, your advice is awesome. ._. )
I dont know much about tarot, but if you position her differently you can have the items closer and positioned differently around her. Im guessing the blades are important, and the infinity symbol, not sure if the candles are important, but just to up the ante lets say they are.
Make her sitting. Maybe the small dagger on her belt, and she could be wielding the long sword on her lap or leaning on the hilt, or sharpening it between her knees, or something. The infinity symbol could be a pendant on her neck, or carved into her. Think of the 3/4ths rule in composition, and see how you can place the objects to follow that.
I have 40-something cards to make, I dunno if I want to redraw the whole thing. xD But yeah, the only thing in there that isn't important is the curtain. xD And the infinity symbol is supposed to be above the head. Yay symbolism. xD
Don't you love when you're doing one thing and have to go do something else?
Anyway, here's the base I did for the hanging man. (Upside down is part of the symbolism, which I think is why I made it a circus? I wanted them to be unconventional-ish. I remember that much.)
Yeah. Somewhere I think I have a base for a hanging man card. It's been two years since I worked on any of them, so I don't remember what it looked like, but... Lemme see if I can dig it up.
I like the things you drew with the pencils ( ad maybe not pencils ) that you used to draw the stuff with.
You're a good drawer. :[ I am not. It's okay tho cuz you can draw, and it is nice.
Seriously, I have a great appreciation for artists, and I wouldn't mind seeing more OC on here in general. I'm gonna subscribe, see if you keep it up. :3 thx 4 post, bai nao.
Ahh, it's called ' funnyjunk, ' but like... half the posts are funny in an amusing way, and the rest is funny in a ' ohhh, that's neat ' way.
Either one you do, I'll probably swing by and see. I have a ridiculous amount of time.
<< But I'm absolutely flaky, so don't get too excited, I guess. ^^ Either way, I did like your work, simply because it was OC. Might be amusing to see more. Suppose time will tell.
