I think everyone in congress should just be let go and we get a whole new congress with some rules. $60k a year. No raising it. That's good enough money for anyone. No one serving in congress may hold stocks. Their decisions need to be based solely on what is good, not what will benefit their businesses, and any member of congress may be let go if they are ever found not to be working towards the betterment of the country and it's people.

Seeing as how it's an Amendment that their pay can't change, good luck passing that resolution.

Most congress members are already rich they are just in it for the power, the extra 100k a year is just a benefit.

Minimum wage is hourly, so I guess they'd be paid nothing. I'm okay with this. Pic semi-related.

I bet if we actually paid our debt, maybe, you know, we wouldn't be in this debt.

Not true. most of them are millionaires and don't even need their paycheck from the government.

i believe that if you want to work any government job where you're in charge of running the country you should work a minimum of a year earning minimum wage in a ****** job with no outside help from anyone, if you can get past that you're hired.

isn't there one of the states that only pays the elected reps when they are sitting, I'm thinking Montana or North Dakota....

You don't negotiate with terrorists. If the Democrats in the Senate overlooked the terrorism and agreed to defund the Affordable Care Act in order to keep their paychecks, it'd be a ******* outrage and their constituents should put their asses out on the street next election.

Well if they aren't working at all, then that's about $8.25/hr too much by my calculations.
