I think what your doing is very good.
as an asian myself i know how people will always talk **** about you and tell them you can't be part of the issue because you earn enough or your asian race never experienced slavery. It hurts me how self-centered these people are. i can already predict how people on this site will tell me not to be butthurt or don't be a fag or whatever but it's been like this my whole short-lived life. funnyjunk needs to stand up to **** like this. and recognize that there are other parties involved as well.
my grandparents ran off to this country, leaving behind the extreme wealth that they had. they had GOD status' called 'raden maas.' but were eventually killed by abuse of white americans and the dutch who still claim to have saven my people. now, after 400 years of rape, torture, slavery, exploitation and sabotaging history people have forgotten about these issues. but do i ever bring it up how white men treated my family bad? yes i do. but it is not to win an argument, it is not to whine about **** that happened in the past. it will always be educational or informative.

It's the culture. Blacks will always see themselves as victims until they choose to educate themselves. The uneducated ones are simply just stupid and are too high in population. Also among themselves and american culture we don't frown upon stupidity and we subtle for failure. With this type of mentality the blacks will never strive for success and they'll continue to seek someone to blame. The whites are the easiest and they're milking that **** for as long as the whites are willing to let them. Once that stream of help ends their only choices are crime and success. As long as we can control their crime and teach them that it's not right then they will strive for success and become like any other person that's not a ******* ****** . Hispanics and Asians aren't dumb enough to think leeching off whites is a good idea. There are plenty of successful american and foreign hispanics and asians who have found much success. Not so much for ******* .

Don't know if my view is correct but whenever people bring up the fact that my "people" enslaved amongst other things their "people", I tend to just say I'm Slavic, and we were never part of that.
Bonus point I add is the fact that I've heard several teachers say the term "slave" comes from "Slav"...
Anybody know how right that is or no? Both the view and the terminology.

A lot of folks here pretend they're above it, but let's not forget: A lot of FJ users are underaged children with no moral compass short of "I'll look so cool to my internet peers if I do this! **** who it hurts!" And while that is a naivete that someone their age is expected to have, it is still dangerous what with how much power anonymity offers you. All a person like that would need is nerve, stupidity, or both. And that's scary.

there's a fine line between empathize with one, and just flatout accept what he/she is saying. I for example find what happened in the past horrible, but at the same time it is not this generation or future generations that needs to pay for the sins of our ancestors. This only keeps breeding conflict. I will not feel responsible when someone from a so called repressed minority cries racism over something it has complete control over, and certain will not accept to be blamed for the past.
I will learn from it, but not carry the burden as every person on earth has sinned then through their ancestors.
make sure when trying to educate people about that past to make sure it's about the people in the past...
and not sugarcoat facts that other cultures and races were/still are as bad....Those with some knowledge of world history will know of the slave routes from europe to the middle east,tribal issues in the middle east, south american past and present, the ongoing tribal issues in africa and massive genocides, the systematic killings of whites that currently happens in south africa, china and modern day slavery by their own which gets exploited by us, china's exploitation and slavery in africa (to the point that africans are again wish that the british would rule them), etc etc... it's just a small grab of past and present issues that are all "racist" issues, but yet most get ignored in favour of targetting one of the few cultures that does try to improve racial equality within their own borders.
It's easy to claim the white west adjusted history to forget such things, while it's not just them, but all races and cultures that have tried to forget their horrible past.
Only then it's acceptable to say : yeah white people in the past did some horrible **** and we must make sure to not repeat that...
Which we are currently doing quite fine, not repeating that.
