To be honest, I try not to watch TV much, but I don't think he is honest most of the time. When someone does horribly, he always insults them, as would most people in his position. However, when someone does quite well, but picked a bad song for their skill level, he insults them as well. I think he does that to encourage them more than insult them.
The kid in that video killed it, and I think Simon knew that the first song was too easy for him. That, or its all scripted.
I think he just gauges the crowds reaction per performance and portrays himself as an elitist, accordingly. If it's great, but still quite a ways from perfect, he'll point that out. Almost putting himself on a pedestal of pretension. While everyone else in the building is in awe, he's always just one step ahead, all because he's a "big shot British cunt". Sure it could be a reverse psychology, but I think it's just a ****** shtick to stroke his ego with, like when someone is undeniably good, his validation is absolutely priceless because of his elitist attitude towards everything else, but when does admit to liking something, that puts him on the same playing field as everyone else. When that happens, his opinion doesn't make a difference in the matter, so it makes sense why he doesn't do it often. Check out the behind the scenes of American Idol, pretty shilly deal they've gt going on if you ask me.
at least he's honest. i agree with cowell 99% of the time because almost all his judgments are valid. some people just sing bad, there's no way to sugar coat it. i don't think its necessary to insult people though (unless they're rude).
THat's actually a pretty good idea for a audition..
Imagine the crew wheeling out a curtained shower/bathtub... Then the instrumental having some "shower water sounds" quietly in the background of the song.. Then someone singing reaaaally well while people are like "what.. woow".. Then some hot piece of ass walking out of the shower in a towel, like "Augh what the **** "
Direct rip off? Is the idea that unique in the first place? Is it possible for two separate individuals to have a similar if not exact idea separate from each other? Is it a rip off if it's an accident? Or is it two creative persons arriving at the same conclusion independently? Also in the scene from that video he's knowingly singing in front of an audience. There's a ******* live band. In this comic the showering individuals reaction implies that he is taken by surprise at having exited the shower into a large studio audience.
