if they revive jon snow i will actually get annoyed. It would mean that the show wants to carry itself with shock value instead of its story and they killed him off just because a main character dies at the end of each season, with his death not moving the storyline if he is revived.

Ruspanic (07/22/2015) [-] They didn't really explore this in the show, but in the prologue of Winds of Winter it shows what happens to wargs when their human bodies are killed - they warg into their animal. And Jon is known by the wildlings to be a powerful warg, even if he hasn't developed his powers. At the very least he'll come back in Ghost's body, but since Melisandre is at the Wall it's also quite likely that she'll revive him. Especially since she's starting to realize she was wrong about Stannis
Also, that particular part of the Season 5 finale actually happened in the books. In fact that's the very cliffhanger the Winds of Winter ended on, so it's not just for shock value.

But with everyone dying wouldn't it be even more surprising to bring them back. i get it now that mostly everyone thinks/knows that they are coming back so it isn't really a surprise as it was intended to be but ya have to gibe grrrrm some credit. the death would have actually forwarded the story as it would allow him to leave the nights watch and the actual act of his death/resurrection could point towards him being azor ahai

there's actually some neat reasons to kill him off. Put behind spoilers for anyone who wants to get pissy about being spoiled:
Once he is revived he will no longer be tied to the watch. The vow is till death, and if he isn't part of the watch he can do all kinds of neat **** . Additionally he'll probably be revived by melissandre, which should cause some interesting character interaction. In the book these two have interacted a lot more and I'm pretty excited to see how that situation develops.
