Funny thing is this image is probably one of the more inspiring things about humanity.

Just ******* look at that. Neither one knows if the other is genuine or playing a stupid joke. But they're both laughing together. The Jew is even playing the part!

It's funny that Nazis and Jews can have a better relationship than a lot of other groups.

most "nazis" today are actually pretty cool people. one of my best friends is an Aryan hardcore nazi, and i'm a puerto rican half breed. we get along great as long as we don't bring up racial issues.

I think of it as dealing with easily triggered people y'know?
For as long as you can keep away from tripping their switch so they don't start screaming german phrases and goose-stepping and causing a scene with their racism and antisemitism, what you've got are functional people, often times quite polite and friendly.

Afterall, the real nazis weren't so much racist as they were into eugenics. They didn't think of other races as beneath them, they thought themselves superior, or atleast as having the potential to BE superior. That and I think that was around the time mainland europe was teaching it's people the 'Hotentot' school of thought, i.e black people aren't people, they're monkey-like animals. You can't exactly be truly malicious toward an animal now can you? They're usually assumed innocent by nature.

ON the flipside though, if they do start spouting their ******** they're not exactly subtle or respectful about it. It's at that point you don't want anything to do with them anymore.

Oh and personally, I'll bet the world at large would be a little more forgiving of their attempted genocide if they weren't so sadistic about it, with their camps and torture and starving them to death and the like. That's the **** that sticks to your rep like a bad welt.

Well, in DJ's case, he and i get along and he's a decent and friendly person. you'd never even know he was racist unless you saw him without a shirt on. i, unfortunately, made a bad joke about "friggin white people" in his presence once and it lead to the most heated argument i've ever taken part it.... followed by me getting my ass beat worse than when i fought my own father.

the next day, it was all back to normal and the issue was forgotten. the next time i got the balls to ask him about it he said "the beating wasn't personal, i just felt you needed to learn some respect"

See that's really the biggest problem with truly racist people
Can't laugh at themselves.

You show me a racist who can take as good as he gives, all with a smile on his face, and that'll be the first step to a true co-existence with racism, and probably the best way to really defeat it.

He is right though. Not everyone in the Wehrmacht identified as Nazis, followed doctrine explicitly, or was apart of the National Socialist vanguard party.

Sure, but your average joe serving in the Wehrmacht, or even the SS for that matter couldn't care less about ******** politics back at the homefront.

The point was is not all of them were National Socialists. There was a variety of concepts of National Socialism, different levels - from simply just following it to being a vanguard member.

I just think it's asinine to call that uniform a Nazi uniform. It's a Wehrmacht uniform. It's not branded a National Socialist political uniform for a reason. Considering that uniform style, disregarding the insignia were in use long before the NSDAP took control of Germany.

wrong. i think about 90% of the people who were no jews, handicaped or from outside germany were nazis at that time. even my grandmother who is a really nice person said that at this point she was one. most of the people believed in it untill close to the end of the war. at least thats what the people say i was talking to and the historybooks.

Are you pretty much not reading anything I'm saying?

You, can not under any circumstances say all Germans were Nazis during the period. That was the point. Even if the majority were. Many simply supported the party because they were doing Germany right; I guarantee most of them did not have an understanding of of the complexities of party politics.

Regardless, your comment excluding Jews is irrelevant. Because from 1921-1935 there was a fairly large and strong Jewish organization that supported Adolf Hitler and his endeavors with themes of integration and assimilation into German culture. So the initial 90%-95% of Germans could and probably were Jews aswell. Not to mention several Jews served in the Wehrmacht throughout the war.

Some of their best soldiers were held back several promotions or were even discharged from the military because they had qualms with the Nazi party. During the occupation of Norway, there were soldiers who gave children caramels and played with them, as well as some that kicked the civilians around. Judging German soldiers by their government was just ridiculous.

I once new a Wehrmacht Soldier. His name was Wilhelm Bringmann and he was one of the nicest and humoristic persons I've ever met. He didn't liked to tell me stories about the war, he liked it much more to tell me about his 15 years living in Africa and working there for VW. Sadly he died last year shortly before christmas.

The picture on the left is a photo from Willi taken by my father.

I know this is maybe not the right place to share a story like this, but I hope it may gives you a new perspective.

Sure, I agree with you.

It's not like the Wehrmacht or SS or the people apart of the National Socialist party were inherently bad. Well, none of them were. One of the largest misconceptions of the era was that everyone in Germany had the same general idea about how to handle issues and everyone agreed on everything. The differences and beliefs of each individual party member was not always shared with the next. It's really no different than any other political party.

But hey...because it's 1930's/40's Germany it's bad. Never mind their friends to the east who rose a red banner in support of the vanguard whose actions killed way more than the actions of Germany.

Not every man and woman in Germany was apart of the National Socialist party, regardless of the fact many may have supported them.

The National Socialist party acted similarly to the Soviet vanguard party, which acted as a tightly nit group of limited members that most of the time were invited based on family/friend ties, rank in society, wealth and influence.

So no, not everyone was really a member.

That's not the argument though, hudge was stating the fact that not everyone in Germany identified as National Socialist. As I stated in my post to hudge, I already explained in agreement with him that within the vanguard party and the population of Germany itself people had different views on how to handle issues and situations.

The definition of "Nazi" is irrelevant, it is simply one who follows National Socialism. You argued that they didn't get a choice in the matter, except - they did. They had the ability to identify as a National Socialist or not. They also had the ability to apply for a membership to the vanguard party, and were either accepted or not.

My critique was not that of arguing on the behalf of the existence of a vanguard but rather that you were incorrect in stating they didn't get a choice in the matter. If that was the case, everyone would have been forced into the National Socialist party.

fair point, but the nazi party was very widely supported, and you are true in the fact they had the choice, but often if you made the wrong choice, you were shot. So statistically, the vast majority of germans were nazis, so it can be a fair stereotype to call them all nazis. Its like calling russians in the 80s communists.

Well to be honest, the Filipinos didn't actually faced the wrath of the Nazi or know how fierce were the Nazis were, infact in our history books, there's barely any Nazi-related content on it.

Mainly because during the WW2, Philippines was captured by the Imperial army of Japan, which to us, were the equivalent Nazi at that time.

Obligatory Philippines mentioned, swells with Nose flute and Wooden Cock knick knacks made from the Igorots
