You mean a death sentence? Until Dawn has a very loose grasp on what a Wendigo really is. For one, they're almost near silent when attacking prey. You'd be more than likely jumped and killed before you knew where it was. Secondly, why would you want to hunt something that is inherently hostile towards you from the get go? They're just going to b-line straight for you. The fun in hunting is tracking down your prey, catching and killing it. With a Wendigo, they're going to turn the hunter into the hunted.

how to kill a Wendigo is largely undecided, given many myths say it cannot be done, and many others just have cliche things like destroy the brain or heart, and use silver. or kill it, then bury the heart because if you don't it will just come back to life.

furthermore a wendigo's call alone can stop hearts, they often have wolves and other predators following them, they're supposed to be like 12-19 feet tall, or in some myths bigger than trees, they are dead quiet when hunting, and can turn into wind, furthermore they can move so fast you can't see them in some other myths...

not too mention you can't exactly decide when the fight will begin, so preparing properly isn't likely too happen. you'd die.

What I mean is that a Wendigo (a supernatural being) isn't exactly something that would be possible to hunt. Why?

Because by the time you started hunting it, you'd already be dead. With dangerous prey like Tigers, Lions, Hippos, and everything else, they can be pretty docile unless you invade their space and/or they're hunting themselves. Wendigo's are ALWAYS hunting for prey. Various cultures explain in depth about the strengths of Wendigos and why they're so dangerous. It'd be like trying to hunt a Yeti or Big Foot. They're so monstrous and utilize stealth tactics in their attacks that you'd be dead without even being aware of it.

This is all going off myths and legends so you pretty much can only use what is available.

That's the point. I'd be saving people from one of the most dangerous animals to not exist. And I wouldn't be alone, a number of people I know would definetely hunt with me if such a thing was plausible. 3 people, back to back, each with a flamethrower? (I'm aware the flamethrower thing comes from until dawn, but there are no sources saying the wendigo is flame retardant, and fire kills most things). I'd reckon it might work decently.
