Thing about that: I actually remember seeing Samuel L Jackson saying something along the line "Juts because I'm famous doesn't make my opinion more valid" when asked who he thought should win the election ('12?).

No, you atuist. It's legit because it is a valid, well-conceived argument.

It's anecdotal at best; it's a single unverified example and we can't really apply that to all situations. Crime rate have gone down since SLJ was young, but there's still tons of people dying to gun-related homicide in all parts of the US every year, including the South.
He raises a good point though, that people wouldn't die if everyone valued life enough. It's just not the only point, because not having a gun makes killing another human being much harder. People who argue that knives and baseball bats still exist are ignoring the differences between the weapons: when you kill someone with a gun, you're pulling a trigger on a small piece of metal from a distance, and faster than you can see that person gets a small hole in their body and if it's somewhere important or no one helps them in time, they die; if you're going to stab someone or beat them to death, you have to be right beside them as they struggle against you, probably kicking and screaming, and you all but look them in the eyes as they violently fade into darkness. Killing with a gun is not only fast, efficient, and relatively easy to get away with, it's also really easy to be disconnected from the kill, whereas if you're going to stab or batter someone with the same chance that you're going to kill them, you've committed to it on an emotional and spiritual level since you have to be present and witness their death throws from an intimate position. Not to say there aren't people ****** up enough to bludgeon you to death, or that assaults without intention of homicide can't accidentally become the latter, but that it's a lot easier to casually slaughter people with firearms, and death is more of a guarantee than if you hit them with something else.
tl;dr it's an anecdote, and guns turn assaults into murders while making the jobs of psychopaths much easier

The prior "assumptions" that you would be making are 1) people don't start shooting each other because they get a gun in their hands, and 2) people who don't value life tend to kill others more easily.
If any of these is hard to believe, then congratulations: you are thereby diagnosed with severe down syndrome.

No it isn't. I mean, it's valid but that doesn't mean it's true, that's the point of the original comment. He have to take his word that they really didn't shoot anyone. We believe his word, because he's a loved actor that has shown integrity. But he could be lying.

It's his conclusion that you ought to take into account. His premises are purely speculative, and rightly so.

That's why I say the argument is valid but that doesn't mean it's true.

An argument cannot be true. Quote me claiming that it is true.

you saying that it's legit. Legit is used in the internet, typically, to say that you believe something is true

Really? I might be in the wrong. I only thought that it meant valid, as "legitimate" would technically imply.

Oh. from the way he used it i think it was mean as in the "looks legit" meme. Like, you see spray painted letters that say "candy under the bridge" and you put the text that says "seems legit".

It's the term I use for "person affected by autism". I'm sorry you are not cognizant of it.

Maybe you've noticed how "atuist" kinda sounds like "atheist". That would be the point, yes.

I love your anger. It pleases me. I am rubbing my nips at your frustration with me as you bleed and sweat all over your keyboard and try to come up with a terse response that makes you sound smart.
"Are you an idiot?" you type out and send.
A second later it dawns upon you: that was not funny, clever and was, most definitely, a response that someone with down syndrome would give. Your eyes swell with tears as you scroll over my witty yet concise responses. Envy makes your heart pound.
You punch your desk, and abruptly turn to your mirror. And now you see it...
You have down syndrome.
And yet I am still there, indalx, rubbing my nips at you, rubbing my nips because your anger and frustrations harden my dick.
Rubbing my nips...
because...
your anger and frustration...
harden my nips.

>ur so mad
>just trying to document your family history and musical career.
You know, if you keep going on like this you won't be getting your biography. I'm just not doing it, indalx, if you keep doing this. It hurts me, indalx.
It makes my nips too hard.

I just google "indalx [incriminating evidence]".
For instance: "indalx in his onesies", "indalx attending his special-ed class", "indalx running off to rape a girl just as autistic and down syndrome-ridden as he is", etc.
