Waitwaitwaitwait...

So stem cells can regenerate lost tissue in a human body and burn victims' lost skin then why aren't we funding this?!
User avatar #24 to #23 - defender (02/03/2014) [-]
Right because they were able to achieve this without funding

Does anyone else have a bad feeling regarding stem cell research? I mean, yea, its good that we can treat replace burnt tissue, and things like that, but, I feel like we may take it to far.

THOSE MONOPOLES THO. **** that's impressive! Monopoles were supposed to be impossible! Guys, this is like breaking the ******* speed of light!

I highly doubt the magnetic monopole one.

That would completely **** on Maxwell's Equations.
User avatar #27 to #26 - stereojunkie (02/03/2014) [-]
Then our understanding of electromagnetic waves and forces are completely wrong

A monopole?! Now we should have no trouble escaping from Hecatonchires!

Time for my favourite game. Name that anime I just obscurely referenced!

I've had this question that I just can't seem to find the answer to on google, I just cant find a way to key word it...

If someone was born into this world, lived his whole life not ever hearing any music or any type of rhythm. If they hear music for the first time, would they notice something strange about it? like, would they feel the rhythm? or just hear a bunch of noises ?

Where do people get these 'this week in science' pictures from? I find them really interesting but I only see them about once a month
#40 - roozles (02/03/2014) [-]
If what I heard at uni 2-3 years ago was correct, making stem cells from "adult" line cells isn't a new thing. At least not this week anyway... If i remember corrctly it involved sort of soft-resetting cells by altering their transcription factors. It also means there's no danger of rejection by patients that receive, for example, organs printed from their own reversed-stem cells.

Pic unrelated.
