A rōnin (浪人?)[1] was a samurai with no lord or master during the feudal period (1185–1868) of Japan. A samurai became masterless from the death or fall of his master, or after the loss of his master's favor or privilege.

In modern Japanese usage, the term also describes a salaryman who is "between employers" or a secondary school graduate who has not yet been admitted to university

That is true. I guess the definition in english is a weak noun if we compare it to actual Japanese one.

It basically means a warrior on it own. A lone wolf, a Ronin

the concept fits so well that it surely gonna be my next ink

Uhmm no. A ronin or any samurai (if I take about Japanese tradition) 'one has to' study what the symbol means in its whole. Wolverine? Am I really on a website where everything seems to thrive on comics, anime or hyped hollywood stuff?

Compare a Ronin to Wolferine.. But I don't know Wolfering so you may have a point but even than..

There is a fine line between the two. In history and hollywood

No, the early conception of Wolverine before X-Men. During World War 2 Wolverine fought the Japanese and caught the attention of samurai, they made him one and he ended up knocking up their leaders daughter and was dishonored, making him a ronin. There is even an entire arc on him on the run from this

Considered you username and interest I was quite skeptical the comment. So, my bad for takin it wrong.

I don't know very much about that from Wolverine story but I figure that that possible be very right in the 'way of a .... samurai/ronin'

My source came just from wiki, to make it not that complicated, as such

Ronin's were considered cowards/honorless. If their leader/master/whoever they were serving died or they lost their title/privelage as you said, they were supposed to commit suicide to restore their honor. Ronin's didn't commit suicide and were honorless.
