WASSUP FJ! Saltyfries here, and roller coasters are a HUGE love of mine! I know almost any roller coaster, manufacturer, location and history of everything about them. Call me, RollerCoasterExplain! Here's a Comp of to biggest baddest rides in the world! I will post youtube videos as well! For example, this one here is Millennium Force, built in 2000 at Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, OH, it was once one of the tallest coasters in the world at 300ft., and the first to break the 300ft. barrier, as such, it is dubbed a Giga Coaster. It's also the first to use a cable lift hill instead of a chain for quicker ride times. It is made by Intamin. www.youtube.com/watch?v=rkHDRgFavHM

This bad boy is El Toro, at one point the tallest Wooden Coaster (also the first wooden coaster to use a cable lift hill), this bad boy boasted a 170ft. drop, and a 70* angled drop! With insane air time and insane speed throughout, this coaster sometimes gets more riders than 2 bigger rides at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey! El Toro is also made by Intamin. www.youtube.com/watch?v=as4XP4Mu6-k

This one is more local, I'm from Green Bay, WI, 4 years ago we finally bought a roller coaster for our local amusement park, Bay Beach. The Zippin Pippin. Originally built in Memphis, TN's, Liberty Land, it was Elvis Presley's favorite ride, and he has good taste too! Averaging about 30mph throughout the ride, with a good 80ft. drop, this coaster still packs a punch thanks to being rebuilt with new parts thanks to the Gravity Group. The original however, could not be recycled or saved as it was condemned by 2003 during the parks closing. www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yBSPWu2U1U

DAMMIT CANADA! Why do you have one of the best rides!? Located in Canada's Wonderland, north of Toronto, Ontario. Leviathan is Canada's Wonderland's newest coaster, and is also one of firsts. Canada's Wonderland is the first amusement park to boast 2 Bolliger and Mabillard (B&M) hyper coasters (the other being Behemoth), and it's also the first Giga Coaster B&M ever built. Surprisingly it still uses a chain lift. www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0ASWKwQwzE

The final bad boy here is one of the most popular coasters in the world! This and Millennium Force won best coaster pretty much all last decade! Bizarro is located in Six Flags New England in Agawam, Massachusetts. Made by Intamin it was initially called Superman Ride of Steel, Six Flags thought it was boring, so they rethemed it with new paint, and made it after Superman's Opposite Doppelganger. Over 200ft. tall, and featuring on-board audio, this coaster has blown rider minds for years! www.youtube.com/watch?v=SfkohW6FXs8

I was afraid to ride the Zippin Pippin due to it's wooden construction for a long time.

Wooden coasters are great though, no flips, just air time, plus they're VERY well engineered now.

I know now, but my kid mind didn't think a wooden rollercoaster could handle that kind of stress.

lemme tell ya right now, there are 2 REALLY old coasters out there that are active still, one in Pennsylvania, the other in Australia, both over 100 years old and still running.

Damn shame i don't live near Penn. I wouldn't mind riding a 100 year old roller coaster.
As for Stralia, I avoid going there for the same reason i avoid Cali.

User avatar #8 to #7 - cptcanada (03/06/2015) [-]
the coaster got to the very top and this dude wearing a superman cape lost it and all the people on the ride had to wait twenty minutes for them to get it off the tracks, the only reason i love the story is because my sisters dbag of an ex was on it when it happened

I was at Cedar Point last year, and I would've rode the Millennium Force if it wasn't for the ******* 8 hour long wait time. Hell, even the line you use when you have a "Quick Pass' thing was 2 hours long. Out of all the amusement parks I've went to, that place had one of the worst.
User avatar #2 to #1 - saltyfries [OP](03/05/2015) [-]
I bet Top Thrill Dragster was worse, what else did you ride there?
User avatar #3 to #2 - poccylane (03/05/2015) [-]
Nothing too intense, just some of the basic **** , Raptor was the "worst" I rode. I wasn't feeling too great and like I said, the wait times there are a pain in the ass.

But other than that, Cedar Point is pretty ******* rad, aside from the hordes of Seagulls that destroy your car.
User avatar #4 to #3 - saltyfries [OP](03/05/2015) [-]
I believe it, they got a new ride there, a winged coaster, forgot the name?

The Gatekeeper, pretty much the first thing you see when you arrive, other than the skyline of the park you get to see when driving to it. Part of it is so close to the entrance that the mixture of screams and the actual coaster started to hurt my ears, but such is the way of an amusement park.

That's crazy. I live in mid-Michigan so I visit Cedar Point like every summer. I've never seen the wait times that long, that's so unfortunate. It's a great ride but not worth that. I've been a few times where the wait was 30 mins so maybe I just luck out and go good times in the season.
User avatar #14 - elsanna (03/13/2015) [-]
I've never ridden the Millennium Force because of the wait times, but I've ridden the Magnum 2000 like 25 times, **** is cash. I love Ceder Point.

I was VERY close to putting that in the 2nd comp, but I thought a funny one would be better. 3rd comp is going to be for more unique coasters instead of just hypers
