I feel pretty close to this one here. If you falsely accuse someone of rape without any evidence and get proven to be a lying sack of **** i believe you deserve to have your life ruined and get sent to jail the same intended amount for the person you accused.

It's ****** up that this woman feels the need assholes who make these false rape accusations

DEATH BY SNU SNU
User avatar #207 to #1 - thumbfortrump (12/12/2015) [-]
This only goes to show that the Milo hype is stupid. This would most likely result in women who are actually raped not reporting the rape fearing going to jail.
A man with zero legal expertise coming with a suggestion this radical just proves that he is not very nuanced in his thinking.
User avatar #286 to #207 - sirrawrsalot (01/06/2016) [-]
I believe there is something called "countersueing" As someone with zero legal expertise, how is this different?
User avatar #287 to #286 - thumbfortrump (01/06/2016) [-]
What Milo is suggesting is a sort of double-sanction, meaning that either plaintiff or defendant goes to jail. Normal procedure is only defendant risking sanction.
Now, if someone countersues, the only sanction possible is compensation for damage. It is not possible for a civil person to open a criminal case against another, as it is only prosecutors who hold such powers. So the difference is actually pretty huge.
#259 to #1 - rollfourexplain (12/13/2015) [-]
The best solution is really to be "innocent until proven guilty" like things should be in America.
User avatar #217 to #1 - sloar (12/12/2015) [-]
Apart from the clear malicious intent, it also uses a lot of police and court time.

Seeing as criminals get reduced sentences for the exact reason of not wasting court time by pleading guilty, I think a proportionate and similar punishment should be given to know pujurors and people who pervert the course of justice
User avatar #172 to #1 - admiralen ONLINE (12/12/2015) [-]
If you make it risky to go to court that would discourage many of the actual victims though
Its not a simple matter
User avatar #176 to #172 - psychotayto (12/12/2015) [-]
well then you can thank people making false rape accusations for ruining it for actual rape victims.

Do you know how much the word "rape" has been played out?
It's gotten to the point where i find it hard to believe anybody who claims they were raped.
User avatar #177 to #176 - admiralen ONLINE (12/12/2015) [-]
Yeah dude, that is why there is the due process, but if you make it so that you need indisputable proof to be able to dare go to court there would probably be no women who tried to get their rapists convicted
Its not an easy thing to solve really, the false accusers should get the punishment and have to pay their victims lawyer fees plus a little extra, but discerning which is which is not easy
Imagine if you were raped and then tried to get the guy arrested only to get thrown into prison for it
User avatar #257 to #177 - ihateeverybodytoo (12/13/2015) [-]
what do you need to put a man in jail for rape? basically nothing.
User avatar #258 to #257 - admiralen ONLINE (12/13/2015) [-]
Depends on how much money the dude has, if hes got great lawyers hes got way better chances
Just look at the freak that got off easy from hitting a family with his car because he had "affluenza"
But again, the reason its hard is because jailing the victim would be ******* horrible
There is no easy solution
User avatar #179 to #177 - psychotayto (12/12/2015) [-]
Like i said, you can thank false accusers.
i sympathies with rape victims but i also sympathies with people thrown in jail and having their lives destroyed for crimes they didn't commit.

It's a sensitive topic but at the moment it seems like there's too much power in the hands of accusers and that needs to stop.
User avatar #180 to #179 - admiralen ONLINE (12/12/2015) [-]
There is no easy solution and thus they havent changed anything big yet
Rape in itself is a very sensitive topic and is really hard to prove and is mostly gonna get judged based on opinion and pretty girls tend to be easier to sympathize with than boys
#216 to #172 - anon (12/12/2015) [-]
The women should only be punished when it is proven beyond a reasonable doubt that they deliberately lied. Lack of conviction does not necessarily mean lying.
User avatar #5 to #1 - platinumaltaria (12/12/2015) [-]
I've often thought that if you make a false accusation you should receive double the penalty.
User avatar #14 to #5 - msrdotwozero (12/12/2015) [-]
What if the guilty person is rich and you knew that if you were to accuse them you would lose and get double the penalty? Equal penalty fine with me
User avatar #125 to #14 - oharo (12/12/2015) [-]
Just because you'd lose the court case or the other person was found innocent doesn't mean you're automatically in **** . Only if you were found to be purposefully fabricating evidence and lying in a malicious manner to convict this person, would you be sentenced to the same punishments.

A courtroom shouldn't be a gladiatorial arena where two enter and one leaves. It should just be that if the prosecutor is found to be blatantly lying, that they can have it turned around on them for trying to abuse the court system for vengeance or whatever reason they have.
User avatar #15 to #14 - platinumaltaria (12/12/2015) [-]

To dissuade people from making false accusations. In the current state if a woman accuses a man of rape, for instance, his whole life is ruined just like that. It seems only fair that if she's lying she gets her life ruined too, right?
User avatar #222 to #214 - basalm (12/12/2015) [-]

There is a kind of logic there.
If a person says they were raped and are in distress or shock, you should help them and not question them, that's for the police to do.

Now when it comes to police and investigating a crime, the feelings of the alleged victim are of little importance.

#50 to #32 - anon (12/12/2015) [-]
Not really sure why you would be pursuring a PhD in the first place. Most people with them nowadays say that bothering with it was a massive waste of time.

But if you're pretty... why the hell are you wasting your time on something [even related to your passion] when you can be getting more money with far less effort, particularly when money controls literally everything? That's just investing your time intelligently.

And you have tons of time to pursue a PhD, but won't be able be this attractive for very long. This is a short window of opportunity, and one should plan for their future by capitalizing on this investment opportunity that won't exist for very long.
User avatar #54 to #50 - organiclead (12/12/2015) [-]
You answered your own question. Your window of opportunity for getting benefits for being pretty pretty much ends when you hit 35. So if you spend 10 years getting PhD from the age of 18 (because no one graduates on schedule), you have 7 years of building your career while you're younger and getting the benefits of a pretty face and a nice comfortable job when you start to get wrinkly.
User avatar #111 to #54 - Shiny (12/12/2015) [-]
As Grace Hopper would know today, being pretty doesn't get a warship named after you.

Going to answer the obvious troll seriously. You don't get a PhD to get fat cash money. You get a PhD because you love the subject material. Anything else is retarded, as you end up using so much of your lifetime getting it. I only went through to masters, as I couldn't find the subject material interesting enough to follow through with a PhD. Many of my friends thought differently.
User avatar #62 to #32 - JonathanNowFuckYou (12/12/2015) [-]
it absolutely IS a waste of time to think feminism can solve this.

The way this gets solved is by walking up to the ONE person that would ever consider saying something as ******* autistic as that, and telling them that they're completely retarded.

I've never in my ******* life heard of anybody talk about trading in your PhD for good looks. Anybody who gives that advice is NOT QUALIFIED to give advice. Why the **** do women take these ridiculous comments so ******* seriously?! I'm not sure I even understand the ******* concept.
User avatar #122 to #62 - zeunfunnyguy (12/12/2015) [-]
the thing is that a lot of women (not just her) get illegitimized because they're pretty, like it was back in the day when women should be quiet and pretty while men did everything.

it's not as big of a deal as it used to be, but there's still sexism around this subject and I don't mind doing something about it on a larger scale to stop people from doing it.

One thing that really pisses me off is when women give up on smart pursuits because they're pretty. I was reading an article of famous people with super high IQs. thats because most problems are relative, comparing them is pointless. When someone has a legitimate problem and someone just states someone else has a worse problem, it achieves nothing.
#120 - taniv (12/12/2015) [-]
Except this kind of makes sense as a satirical rebuttal. No matter what you are wearing, you don't deserve to become a victim of criminal behaviour or harassment to it. Remember how the site got up in arms because Matt Taylor was bullied to the point of tears during the Comet Landing for wearing his a custom designed gift from his friend? We can't have those same double standards that we complain about.
User avatar #236 to #120 - imostlyroll (12/12/2015) [-]
Two thumbs for you. I agree that no one is "asking for it" when they are dressed a certain way. However, if someone dresses provocatively then they shouldn't complain about being stared at. Now rape I would say is terrible and there is no excuse, but don't be too surprised if people flirt with you.
User avatar #283 to #236 - taniv (12/13/2015) [-]
I think the "don't be surprised" is alright, but not the "you deserve it" for just about anything. We have developed a great trait in society, which is to focus on how we can prevent bad **** from going down. The negative side is that we automatically assume that bad **** went down because someobdy didn't do enough to prevent it, and further that by not taking that step of prevention that they somehow "deserve" it as if it is not only their fault but it was some sort of moral righteousness that the act was done unto them.
THere are a number of problems with that. Iif locking your doors prevents 99% of break ins, 1% of people with locked doors will still get their house broken into, so assuming they didn't take a step to prevent is wrong. Even then, it is not their "fault" for the break in if they didn't lock their doors; while they are responsible for prevention methods and should have been wiser, the only people responsible for the crime are the perpetrators of a crime because whether or not those doors were locked, they only had to be locked because of someone else having malicious intent. The "morally righteous" part is the most disturbing, when people judge you for being the victim to something you had little control over; you can take methods of prevention, but they're by no means guarantees and they honestly just shouldn't be a necessity, I mean most people would agree, the ideal wouldn't be that everyone locked their doors but that no one had to, so someone taking that freedom shouldn't be judged as immoral just because they were a victim, judge them as immoral if you disagree with an act or don't because there's a plank in your eye bud but don't blame their misfortune on their immorality because bad **** happens to all people including good people.

tl;dr we can prevent **** , and we can expect higher likelihoods of events taking place if we don't prevent things, but the fault lies solely with the person who does the bad **** and not the person who had the bad **** done to them (although, blatant and intentional provocation can very reasonably weaken your case in a court of law)

I agree with this if a fat person suffers dreadfully with self image and self confidence then a piece of **** giving them a card calling them human garbage got make them just say **** it. If even strangers hate me, why should I ******* bother.

This is the card the people were handing out, and the woman was only a size 14 in UK sizes, which according to wiki is a size 10 in the US, It seems like a massive dick move by edgelords in my opinion.

I want to find one of those "Free slaps for Cisgendered heterosexual" booths, and slap them back, saying, "Oh, I'm doing a "Free slap for a cunt" today.
#36 to #35 - anon (12/12/2015) [-]
and get arrested? you'd be better off waiting for one to slap you then slapping them back while yelling "equality." at least then when the police come you can say she hit you so you defended yourself.

They probably can't deliver a proper punch.

Ask for a slap and when they give it act like its a fetish, like they have given you a sexual thrill.

Get a button-activated spring dildo, wear loose pants, when they slap, moan loudly and activate the dick.

Look at them seductively and say, "Do it again, baby.".

Win.

Revoking slap consent is probably the best.

I just want to say that handing out anti-fat people cards is a dick move. Seriously. Most fat people know they are fat. There is no need to point it out and degrade them over it. Quite a few fat people go to gyms in an attempt to try and not be fat. Also, while it's not as big a deal as truly oppressed women in the world, saying that it's a waste for pretty women to get PhDs is an insult. Like ... just because someone thinks you're pretty doesn't mean you shouldn't get an education. It doesn't mean that an education is wasted on you. It just means that someone happens to think you're pretty. It's still not as big a problem as ... well ... the obvious problems in the world ... but it is a bit of an insult. It reminds me of when my mother said that the whole point of finding a husband is so that I'll have a man to take care of me and spoil me. I was thinking to myself, "Wow, my mother's a stupid whore."

User avatar #185 - chuca ONLINE (12/12/2015) [-]
The first one is about how people think because she looks good she shouldn't go to college for a higher education and should just go model or something. Like if a guy who was athletic got told he shouldn't "waste" it getting a degree also.

Disagree with the feminism part or not, twisting words around to make them look worse is being just as bad as the feminazis you hate so much.

Some of the teeth were actual human teeth, but not from slaves. I think there were some teeth from poor people who sold them for a bit of money. A lot of powdered wigs were made the same way. Lower-class folk needed money, so they sold their hair.

You're both kind of wrong

www.mountvernon.org/george-washington/the-man-the-myth/the-trouble-with-teeth/

He used all kinds of **** in those things, bone, other human teeth, and, yes, ivory. And check number 6. He at the very least bought some teeth originating from some black people. Doesn't confirm he used them, but it wouldn't make much sense for him to have bought them if not. Only 9 though so it wasn't like it was a full set, and apparently it was common practice back then. Weird

I can actually imagine it being frustrating if you work that hard to get a PHD and people still patronize you. I don't see what that has to do with feminism though, just respect between people.
#103 - UnstoppableForce (12/12/2015) [-]
The concept of this is so dumb, you could apply this to any law in existence.

Do laws against white collar crimes prevent certain people from embezzling money? Absolutely not. Should we remove all of the laws because of those few people who don't follow them?

According to you people, yes.

True in most cases... But and this is a big one!

Most safe and non-violent (And also least oppressive) countries do have very strict gun-control laws
