Not in the beta, is that something they will address? I mean the Hero chars seem pretty OP but getting Al Qaeda'd every time you step out into the snow with your freshly polished stylin' as **** boots before you can even force choke a bitch would get pretty old fast
Disney owns Starwars now, So now they HAVE to have the good guys Completely be better than the Empire, never mind that the storm troopers were actually Super Trained Troops, and the rebels mostly not. And if you were ever hoping for an Empire Based Game, Well Good Luck with that.
The original clones were all super trained troops,by the time the empire was where it was when luke was the main hero almost all of the original clones had died or were super old.
The reason the stormtroopers are infamous for not hitting anything is because the majority of the empires forces were conscripts and mercenaries, and some of them didnt want to hurt anyone it was just a job.
But...the Empire's troops at the time were ****** conscripts. Not the badass Clones that we all know and love. If anything the Rebels and Troopers have the same skill level.
Darth Vader wasn't exactly vulnerable to it. And if they'd tried, he would've just jumped out of the way. Sith and Jedi have super reflexes, so no Battlefront games do that justice in order to not make them OP.
In force unleashed the main dude stopped a star destroyer. Vader could probably handle adding a slight amount of force required to make that thing miss.
Force Unleashed is so ridiculously non-canon when it comes to Force powers... Remember in New Hope when Obi Wan and Vader fought? It was like watching two old men ballet dance. Even the more powerful battles like Luke vs Vader in V and VI were just simple lightsaber battles. No electricity exploding everywhere, no entire pieces of the room whirling around like a hurricane. And before you say "He wasn't trying to kill Luke," granted, but the one time we do see objects used offensively, Vader has to stop to meditate and focus to send the (small) objects flying.
Force Unleashed was a fun game, but it is not an accurate representation of the Force in their universe at all.
In the second i think? movie, didnt yoda and dooku have a fight that at some point turned into a "throw big metal objects at each other" kinda thing? you dont need to completely stop the fighter from moving, just add a slight amount of force in any axis and it will hit a few meters off.
I am also assuming that the 3 prequals, while pretty bad movies, are canon
forgot to add why i wrote this. When they were throwing objects they both were shown to be concentrating, so im assuming that you need to stand still and concentrate to succeed.
The fight starts with dooku throwing metal objects at yoda and he escapes by making a big metal pillar almost crush anakin and obi wan. i love all 6 movies equally because every movie has its flaws
I'm pretty sure that's just because of the limitation they had when they made the original movies. You can see that with the fact that Lucas went back to add more as the technology came out.
Outside of the movies, Vader was a monstrosity. He used the force incredibly effectively in tandem with his cybernetics to make himself a killing machine. He could use the force to crush someone's organs. He used precise bursts of Force Speed on specific body parts to make his moves too fast to see.
I know people may have differing opinions on this, but for me there is no Vader "outside of the movies." A lot of the expanded universe plots were completely nullified by the prequels, anyway.
Vader was an old man at that point, and he was powerful enough to use force lightning but do to his robotic arm and suit needed to live it would hurt him to use it. Forcing him to rely solely on his lightsaber skills.
The events of Force Unleashed 2 took place 1 year before the battle of Yavin according to Wookieepedia, and in it Vader is an unstoppable monster of a man. So unless you want to take the argument that he (and the Emperor) suffered catastrophic Force-altering injuries at the hands of Starkiller, Vader aged one hell of a lot in one year.
Recommend reading the New Sith lords book (New canon) has Vader doing some crazy **** in his ship and using the force like a badass, so maybe the Force Unleashed wasn't so crazy but I do agree with some of the Ridiculousness in it.
He'd have to know he's being targeted ahead of time though, and in the heat of battle it's really easy to miss a spot check, particularly if a sniper has you in his sights from a distance.
You doubt the Dark Side.
If you're angry enough, you can survive anything with the Dark Side. Ask Darth Sion. He was "killed" plenty of times. His body was decaying. But all his anger and agony channeled through the Dark Side made him immortal.
Vader went a bit crazy because of all the pain and anger and ended up killing his wife. (If you count Revenge of the Sith as a film, I'm not one to judge).
If you also count Force Unleashed as ghostninjaguy stated, the thing Vader hates more than anything else, is himself, therefore he has an unlimited supply of that hatred running around.
Theoretically he could survive so long as his suit isn't compromised, and even if it is he can use the force to keep himself alive with a non-functioning life support system for iirc up to a day.
real vader would by the force see it coming and dodge
thats pretty much the reason why jedis and sith are so overpowered, they can sense danger like with the spider sense
That would kill their own, and for such an idealistic existense as the rebels the chances of doing that is very low
I mean, thats something the empire would do after all
Not necessarily.
They totally destroyed the entire Deathstar.. twice.
Like, they didn't sabotage or incapacitate it, they outright blew it up and all the potentially hundreds of thousands of people on it, with a huge portion that probably wasn't even military. Y'know, engineers and maintenance workers and **** .
So, I don't think nukes would be particularly morally out of the question.
The entire thing was made for only one thing, genocide
so the people on the death star kinda are assholes and if they die all the better for it
But nuking your fellow rebels just to kill Vader goes against their idealism
Thank you. I dont understand what the rebels did wrong. Alot of people says they shouldnt destroy the death star because innocent people might be on the station. But if they didnt destroy the death star they would have died. So im not seeing the problem here.
"Innocent"
Building a ******* doomsday weapon made to destroy planets and also actually destroying one killing i dont know how many means youre kind off on the wrong side of innocent
I mean, they kill stormtroopers en masse, but they are just following orders
Cause i guess thats the only argument anyone would have for someone on the death star being a poor innocent person
yeah, i was just saying why its retarded to consider them innocent
at most the prisoners on the death star are the reason anyone would even consider the argument
Primitive Slugthrowers are impossible to completely deflect with a lightsaber. Molten steel slag coming off the saber will still get the Jedi.
However Slugthrowers are useless for everything but that, given standard armor would be able to stop the shots; thus they were phased out and the tech is incredibly rare that nobody things of it anymore.
You don't think of cranking up a Grammophone when your Ipod runs out of battery do you? Basically same situation here.
Vader also may be different given he's an armored Sith, and someone like Greivous could give less than negative ***** about Slugthrowers.
Smith and Wesson model 500.
A .50 caliber revolver.
More accurate, longer range, and a much bigger bullet.
Someone can shrug off a glancing shot from one of those.
A glancing shot from the 500 removes the limb it hits.
I think you don't understand just how much of a beating Vader is able to handle. The guy has survived a building collapse on him, being impaled through his gut, sucked into space, and has been on multiple Star Destroyers and Tie Fighters that have been completely obliterated with him in it. I think he can handle having an A-Wing crash into him.
The most powerful Sith Lords could affect things called "Mass Shadows" which were essentially giant and extremely strong gravity wells, so much so one particular one from KoToR II called Darth Nihilus ripped out a Centurion class battlecruiser out of one with the Force.
In short, yes, Vader could stop an X-Wing flying at him quite easily. Though he would probably survive even if it hit him.
I was just giving an example of what the force could do. Vader is nowhere near as powerful as Nihilus but I do believe that he is more powerful than a lot of people give him credit for. Especially considering the movies didn't really do him justice in my opinion.
